The Queen honours the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey

The Queen has honoured Remembrance Sunday in the UK with a solemn visit to the grave of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey.

She laid flowers in memory of the lives lost in war, presenting a bouquet inspired by her own wedding flowers.

It is the first time Her Majesty has made an appearance at an official event wearing a face mask, which she paired with black gloves.

The head of the monarch spent most of the year in isolation to avoid the coronavirus pandemic.

This latest appearance comes just after the announcement of a new lockdown in the UK.
