Angela Bishop has shared a heartfelt tribute eight years after her husband Peter Baikie passed away.

The 10 News First entertainment reporter shared a throwback photo with her daughter, Amelia and Peter, on Instagram over the weekend with the caption: “We miss you Pete. Every single day💔”

Peter was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2016 and died a year later on November 22 at the age of 54.

Angela confirmed the heartbreaking news of his passing in a statement shared with the press in 2017, saying: “he fought courageously till the end and passed away on Wednesday, 22nd November 2017, peacefully, surrounded by his family and friends.”

On May 22, she marked what would have been the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary with a special tribute to Peter.

“20 years ago today. I miss you with all my heart,” she wrote, alongside a photo from their wedding day.

The entertainment reporter has been open about her grief and coming to terms with losing her husband.

In a 2023 interview with Woman’s Day she shared how there was “no map” to navigate grief.

“Parenting is a huge responsibility, and when I lost Peter, I had no one to bounce off anymore. We were often on the same page, and now I don’t have that person to run things by,” she shared at the time.

“I’ve had wonderful extended family to help since I’ve been on my own, but it’s not quite the same.”

She also reflected on their daughter, who turned 16 at the time, and how proud Peter would have been.

“Peter was a mechanic, and was so looking forward to teaching her to drive – he would have been amazing,” she said.

“Some days you miss them more than others. This is one of them.”

Amelia was only 10 when her father passed away, she is now 18 years old.
