A touching message has been hung in front of a house close to the fire zones on the NSW coast.

The sign, left on a house in the town of Pambula on the far south coast of NSW, was photographed by 43-year-old Anita Glover.

“Evacuees can use tap on right side of house,” the sign read. “Knock for food or shower, tent sites, or dog minding or help in general.”

Glover, who now lives on the Sunshine Coast, said areas close to Pambula have been evacuated even though the town itself has not been affected by the fires.

“Stopped in town to pick up supplies and saw this house,” Glover wrote on a Facebook post.

She told 9News, “I just thought it was great, the generosity, and people thinking of other people that have been evacuated.”

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian declared a seven-day state of emergency starting on Friday as thousands of people in bushfire zones are forced to evacuate.

The NSW Rural Fire Service has declared a “tourist leave zone” for a 14,000-square-kilometre area between Nowra and the edge of Victoria’s northern border.

“We have so many fires still burning down there … and quite close to communities as well,” he said.

“We won’t get containment on those fires before Saturday.”
