Love is well and truly in the air for Home and Away stars James Stewart and Ada Nicodemou, who have announced their engagement in a heartfelt video shared with fans.
The much-loved pair, who also play on-screen spouses on the long-running soap, revealed the happy news on Instagram on Sunday morning, posting footage of Stewart’s romantic Valentine’s Day proposal, surrounded by family and friends.
In the sweet clip, Nicodemou looks radiant in a red dress as Stewart drops to one knee in a public park, professing his love while dressed in a dark suit. Visibly emotional, the actress eagerly accepts the proposal, with the moment soundtracked to Lonestar’s love anthem Amazed.
“I said yes!!” Nicodemou, 48, captioned the video, while Stewart, 50, kept it simple but joyful, writing: “She said yes.”
The celebration quickly became a family affair, with Stewart’s 13-year-old daughter Scout – whom he shares with ex-partner Jessica Marais – stepping into frame to congratulate the couple with a hug, before Nicodemou proudly admired the sparkling diamond on her ring finger.
Fans and famous friends flooded the comments with messages of congratulations, including warm words from their Summer Bay family.
“This is the most wonderful news! Congratulations Ada and Jimmy, you deserve every happiness,” wrote co-star Emily Symons.
Former castmate Lynne McGranger added: “Oh my heart!! So thrilled for both of you!! Of course Jimmy proposed and you said yes on Valentine’s Day!! Excellent news!! Wishing you guys every happiness always.”
On screen, Nicodemou and Stewart are best known as Leah Patterson and Justin Morgan, who tied the knot on Home and Away in early 2024 — the same year the actors confirmed their long-standing friendship had blossomed into romance off screen. The couple made their red-carpet debut together at the TV Week Logie Awards later that year.
Reflecting on their relationship, Stewart previously said their bond was built on years of friendship and laughter. Nicodemou echoed the sentiment, sharing that she feels “really content and happy”.
