Russell Crowe has marked a proud dad moment.
The Oscar winner took to social media to celebrate his son Charles’ graduation from university.
Crowe, 61, who most recently appeared in the wartime film Nuremberg, gushed over Charles’ achievement with a throwback photo shared to X.
“Today my eldest received his Bachelor of the Arts (Latin),” Crowe wrote.
“I’m going to have to build some more storage space to pack away all this fatherly pride.
“He’s a little bit taller these days… and he’s got a beard and such… but, same wise before his years fella.”

Charles, 22, is the eldest of Crowe’s two sons with former wife Danielle Spencer. The couple also share Tennyson, 19.
Crowe and Spencer first met in 1989 while the New Zealand-born actor was in Australia filming The Crossing. Their relationship was on-and-off for years, including a period when Crowe dated actress Meg Ryan after meeting her on the set of Proof of Life in 2000.
Following that relationship, Crowe reunited with Spencer. The pair married in 2003 and welcomed their sons in 2003 and 2006 before separating in 2012. Their divorce was finalised six years later.
Despite their split, Crowe has spoken publicly about the close bond he shared with Spencer.
In a 2015 interview with The Sunday Times, he said, “I’ve loved Danielle Spencer since 1989 – that’s never going to change”.
That same year, he told the Daily Mail, “I stare at her and go, ‘How did this fail?’ I still can’t work it out.”
In 2024, Spencer reflected on the separation during an appearance on the Something To Talk About podcast, saying she carried guilt over the breakdown of their marriage.
“Me kind of breaking up the family – and it felt very much like I was driving that – so I had to deal with my almost sense of guilt that I was fracturing the family,” she said.
“But obviously I did it for a number of reasons, and I wouldn’t have done it if I didn’t think it needed to happen.”
Crowe has since moved on with actress-turned-real-estate-agent-turned-assistant Britney Theriot. The pair first met on the set of Broken City in 2013 and later reconnected, going public with their relationship after being photographed together in Sydney’s Rushcutters Bay in November 2020.
In 2022, Theriot joined Crowe and his sons on a family trip to Rome, where the actor referenced his role in Gladiator, writing on X: “Taking the kids to see my old office.”
