Big Brother star Ben Duncan has died aged 45 after a fall from a hotel rooftop bar in London.

“Officers responded to concerns for a man on the roof of a building in Cockspur Street, Westminster at 23:02 hours on Thursday 30 October,” a spokesperson said in a statement to UK media.

Duncan, who was also a classmate of the Prince and Princess of Wales at St Andrews university, fell seven floors from The Trafalgar St James hotel last week.

“The man sadly fell from height. Despite the best efforts from the London Ambulance service, he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene,” the spokesperson continued.

“His death is unexpected but non-suspicious.”

According to The Mirror, a spokesperson for London Ambulance told the UK media that emergency services were called to the scene but were unable to save Duncan.

“We were called at 10:59pm on Thursday 30 October to reports of an incident on Spring Gardens, City of Westminster,” they said.

“Very sadly, despite the best effort of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”

Duncan was known for starring on season 11 of Big Brother UK, but he also starred in other TV shows like Come Dine With MeLadette to Lady and Celebrity Coach Trip.

He was also known for being classmates with Prince William and Kate, and in a previous interview with the Daily Mail, he recalled what his university life was like saying: “Because we’d had Will and Kate in our midst, we had royal protectino officers swarming the place.”

“We knew that they had hit it off and we knew that something was happening but they were just left alone to get on with it.”

Tributes have been shared online, with friend and broadcaster Mike Hollingsworth writing: “My dear, dear friend Benjamin (Ben) Duncan has left us.”

“He lived life as a Peter Pan, the boy who never grew up.

“He will be sorely missed by his many, many friends who grew to love his charm, his wit, his infectious laugh and his innate sense of style.

“The world is a poorer place for his passing…RIP Benji.”
