Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have launched their own official Instagram account called “@sussexroyal”.
The account was launched on the 2nd of April and quickly broke the record of gaining 1 million followers in 5 hours and 45 minutes, according to the BBC. This broke the current Guinness World Record of 11 hours and 36 minutes, which was held by a Korean pop star.
The official social media account of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will be used for “important announcements” and will share work that “drives” them.
In their first post, Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan shared the following message with their loyal fans:
“Welcome to our official Instagram; we look forward to sharing the work that drives us, the causes we support, important announcements, and the opportunity to shine a light on key issues. We thank you for your support, and welcome you to @sussexroyal.”
