Prince William and Princess Kate made a glamorous return to the red carpet for the 2025 Royal Variety Performance at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

The annual charity gala raises funds for the Royal Variety Charity, with the couple’s appearance marking an especially meaningful moment after a challenging year for their family.

In her first public appearance since announcing her remission, Kate stepped out in an elegant emerald green velvet gown by Talbot Runhof, paired with Greville diamond chandelier earrings once owned by Queen Elizabeth.

William complemented her look in a velvet-trimmed black tuxedo and bow tie.

Hosted by comedian Jason Manford, the performance featured highlights from Paddington The Musical, singer-songwriter Jessie J, Icelandic jazz artist Laufey, and a spectacular finale celebrating 40 years of Les Misérables.

After Jessie J’s performance of I’ll Never Know Why, Kate shared a warm embrace with the singer, who later said they connected over their shared experiences with cancer.

William also enjoyed a light-hearted moment on stage with Paddington Bear, joking about the bear’s marmalade sandwich.

It was Kate’s first time back at the charity gala since her cancer recovery, with her last appearance in 2023. The royal spoke briefly with attendees, including nine-year-old twins Emelia and Olivia, the children of staff at Brinsworth House, a care home supported by the Royal Variety Charity.

“My kiddies were very sad not to be joining us,” she told the twins.

The couple also met performers after the show, with William describing Paddington The Musical as “fantastic” when speaking to composer Tom Fletcher from McFly.

The Royal Variety Performance remains a major fundraiser for thousands of people in the entertainment industry who rely on the charity for support.

William, who has long championed mental health awareness, also took time to connect with artists, including Jessie J, reflecting on their own personal challenges.

This year’s appearance comes two years after William and Kate last attended the show in 2023. They were absent in 2024 while Kate continued treatment following her cancer diagnosis. She later announced she was in remission and focusing on her recovery.
