Natalie Bassingthwaighte has announced her engagement to partner Pip Loth.

The Aussie singer shared a video of the proposal to Instagram, which started with a shoutout from Canadian actor Noah Reid, who dedicated a cover of Tina Turner’s Simply the Best to the couple.

Reid is known for his unique rendition of the song from his role on Schitt’s Creek.

Over Reid’s performance, Bassingthwaighte shared highlights from their trip, including a helicopter ride over the Niagara Falls.

The proposal unfolded as a woman typed a poem in public while the couple watched, Loth was handed a note, before Bassingthwaighte pulled out a ring box, got on one knee, and proposed.

“Just a little casual proposal… it was me, I got proposed to!” Loth exclaimed on camera, showing off her silver ring. Bassingthwaighte captioned the post, “💋🙏🏻🌈❤️💍 @piploth So grateful ❤️”

Celebrity friends flooded the comments with well-wishes.

Michelle Bridges wrote, “Congratulations you two beautiful people!!! I’m so happy for you both!!!”

Danii Minogue shared a simple, “Congratulations,” while Bassingthwaighte’s Neighbours co-star Alan Fletcher said, “Oh my stars. What a beautiful thing to see first thing in the day. Huge love to you both. Xxxxxxxxx”

The couple recently celebrated two years together, with Loth posting a heartfelt tribute on Instagram. “Two years ago you asked me to be your girlfriend,” Loth wrote.

“It was the easiest thing in the world to say yes.”

Loth added that Bassingthwaighte brought “adventure” and “joy and love” into her life, writing, “Everyday you help me grow into a person who is happy, proud and excited for the future. Thank you for seeing me and loving me anyway. Happy us day my love.”

Bassingthwaighte replied with a touching comment: “My [love heart], you have given me strength beyond belief… You have held my hand, wiped my tears and shown me that anything is possible. You are the most extraordinary human to friends and strangers. How lucky am I. My heart is full. I LOVE YOU. Two years and counting.”

The couple confirmed their relationship in 2023, despite facing harsh public comments. Bassingthwaighte said at the time, “It’s a load of crap, it’s not acceptable and I want it to stop!”

Bassingthwaighte was married to ex-bandmate Cameron McGlinchey for 12 years, with whom she shares two children, Harper, 14, and Hendrix, 11.

She was previously married to Wollongong chef Graham Wilmott from 1998 to 2000.
