Former  Sunrise  host Melissa Doyle has shared some amazing family news about her son Nick Dunlop.

The 21-year-old, who is part of the Australian Rowing Team, has had a major win after taking home a gold medal in  an international regatta held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria.

The journalist and proud mum couldn’t hide her excitement as she took to Instagram to share a few snaps of her son and his team.

“Really trying hard not to be an embarrassing mum, but failing,” she started the caption.

“Bawling like a baby. Gold! World Champions!! Back to back gold!”

Dunlop is a coxswain for Washington University in the US, which means he was responsible for steering the boat and co-ordinating the power and rhythm of the crew.
