MasterChef Australia judge Andy Allen and his wife Alexandra have announced they are expecting their first child together.

The 37-year-old chef took to Instagram to announce the exciting baby news, sharing a series of snaps of the couple in a park with Allen’s hand placed over his wife’s baby bump.

“We’ve been cooking up something pretty special,” he wrote in the caption.

“Welcoming a little duckling in April.”

Fellow MasterChef stars and their friends took to the comments to congratulate the couple and send their well-wishes, with MasterChef judge Sofia Klevin writing: “BEST NEWS! Congrats lovers.”

Judge Poh Ling Yeow also congratulated the couple, saying: “This is amazing news. Congrats you guys!”

Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey also congratulated the couple, while MasterChef 2016 winner Elena Duggan added: “Truly wonderful news! Congratulations!!! Sending big love!!!”

The couple announced the joyful baby news one month after their three-year wedding anniversary.

Just last month Alexandra shared touching anniversary post on her Instagram, featuring clips from the pair’s intimate wedding.

“We started a tradition where we go back and watch our wedding video each anniversary and it just makes me the happiest person in the world reliving our celebration over and over,” she wrote at the time.

Allen was a contestant on the show and won the 2012 season. Eight years later, he became a MasterChef judge, and has been a notable food critic and chef ever since winning the show.
