Carols In The Domain has grown into Australia’s largest Christmas celebration, with Sunrise presenters Nat Barr and Matt Shirvington confirming they will return as hosts this year.

This year marks a significant change, with The Salvation Army taking over as naming rights partner for the first time in 21 years, following Woolworths’ long-running sponsorship.

The charity has maintained a strong association with the event throughout its 43-year history.

On Thursday, Barr and Shirvington announced they would once again lead the annual broadcast.

“It’s the best time of the year, and it’s almost here,” Barr told 7NEWS.com.au.

“Shirvo and I are thrilled to be back hosting Carols In The Domain and couldn’t be more excited to welcome The Salvation Army as our new presenting partner and the heart behind this year’s celebration.

“The choir, the voices, the colours, the magic … there’s no other night quite like Saturday, December 20.”

Shirvington echoed the sentiment, reflecting on the event’s long-held tradition.

“Carols In The Domain is always such a special night … full of music, family, and that incredible Christmas spirit and hopefully Santa makes an appearance too,” Shirvington said.

“I can’t wait to be back hosting with Nat again, and what makes it even more meaningful this year is having The Salvation Army as our naming partner.

“The Salvos do such important work supporting Australians doing it tough, especially at Christmas, and they’ve been part of the Carols story for more than 40 years – so it’s only fitting they take centre stage this year.”

Woolworths will continue to support the event as a major partner, with organisers acknowledging the supermarket’s significant contribution over more than two decades.

The Salvation Army’s Janine Kewming said, “The Salvation Army is proud to extend our strong connection with Carols In The Domain and promote our shared values of bringing the true hope and joy of Christmas to life by giving back to those in need through our annual Christmas Appeal.”

Carols In The Domain, recognised as Australia’s largest annual Christmas celebration, will take place on Saturday, December 20.
