It’s been two years since Johnny Ruffo passed away following a years-long battle with brain cancer, and now, his girlfriend Tahnee Sims has shared a heartbreaking post to mark the anniversary of his death.
Tahnee took to Instagram to share a black-and-white video montage of their eight-year relationship, with a cover of Aerosmith’s I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing playing in the background.
“Two years with the best guardian angel,” she captioned the video.
The video showed a few clips from the couple’s various trips together, and one clip showed Tahnee accompanying Johnny while he was getting treatment.
“Not a day goes by that I don’t think of you. Living life for you, always,” she continued.
Friends, co-stars and fans shared their love in the comments, including Johnny’s former Home and Away co-star Ada Nicodemou, who left two heart emojis underneath the video.
“What a beautiful relationship you had, gorgeous girl,” one fan commented. “Keep shining. He would be so proud of you.”
“Oh, honey. He will live through you forever. Your love for each other was so special,” wrote another. “Johnny would be so proud of you.”
“This is a rare and beautiful kind of love. I hope your paths meet again in another life,” another commented.
Johnny passed away in November 2023, following a six-year battle with brain cancer.
Tahnee was with Johnny when he received his first brain cancer diagnosis in 2017, and she was with him throughout his cancer battle.
“Without her I may not be here,” said in a previous interview with Now to Love.
“She was the one who made me get in the car [to go to hospital] when it [the headaches] first happened. And she’s encouraging me to do things. She keeps me active, getting me to go for runs and swims.”
Last year, Tahnee shared a tribute to Johnny on the first anniversary of his death, and gave an insight into her grief.
“Grief is incredibly heavy but it’s the price we pay for love & I’m so grateful for all of the years we got to share together & the lifetime of love & adventure we packed in,” she shared at the time.
