The Cambridge children have written letters to “Granny Diana” for Mother’s Day in the UK which falls on March 14.

Prince George, 7, Princess Charlotte, 5, and Prince Louis, 2, have drawn and written to Princess Diana who died before they were born.

Their works of art were shared by their proud parents Prince William and Duchess Kate on their official social media account.

Prince George wrote: “Dear Granny Diana, Happy happy Mother’s Day. I love you very much and think of you always, sending lots of love from George xxx.”

Princess Charlotte wrote: “Dear Granny Diana, I am thinking of you on Mother’s Day, I love you very much. Papa is missing you. Lots of love Charlotte xxx.”

And Prince Louis kept it simple but painting a love heart and signing his name.

William and Kate shared their children’s messages along with the caption: “This year Mother’s Day will be different once again.

“Many of us will be apart from our loved ones, but looking forward to a time in the not too distant future when we can give our mother a hug again.

“But for those experiencing bereavement, today may be particularly challenging.

“Each year on Mother’s Day, George, Charlotte and Louis make cards remembering their Granny, Diana, for William.

“Whatever your circumstances, we are thinking of you this Mother’s Day.”

The Cambridges shared another photo soon after, of a young Kate walking alongside her mother, with the caption: “Celebrating two other special mothers today”.

Princess Diana died in 1997 in a Paris car crash before Prince William and Kate Middleton had even met at St Andrews University. They were eventually engaged and wed in 2011.
