Betty Harford has passed away aged 98.

The actress, known for her role as Hilda Gunnerson in 80s soap Dynasty, died peacefully on November 2, according to a friend.

Harford appeared on the iconic show for eight seasons, she also acted in The Paper Chase, between 1978 and 1986.

She starred in 45 episodes of the series, which also John Houseman, James Stephens, and Tom Fitzsimmons.

Harford, who was born in New York City in 1927, made her acting debut in the 1950s series Fireside Theatre, before appearing in The Gumby Show and Alfred Hitchcock Presents.

She starred in a few other films and shows including The Wild and the Innocent, Adventures in Paradise, The Law and Mr. Jones, and The Twilight Zone.

Harford received acting credits for her roles in The Big Valley, T.H.E. Cat, The Name of the Game and Room 222.

She also appeared in Oscar nominated film The China Syndrome in 1979.

Her acting career spanned over four decades, with her last role in 1994, when she voiced Gumba for the 30-minute animation video Fun with Gumby.

Harford was married twice, once to  Oliver Andrews – a sculptor who died at age of 53 when he was scuba diving off the California coast in 1978, and later on to Hungarian actor Sándor Naszódy, who died in 1996 at the age of 81. 

She is survived by her son Chris and her grandsons.
