The fourteenth victim of the Bondi terror attack has been identified as 50-year-old Adam Smyth.

Smyth was walking along Bondi Beach with his wife, Katrina, on Sunday afternoon when they were caught in the shooting carried out by the alleged father-and-son gunmen.

In a statement released by NSW Police on Thursday, Mr Smyth’s family said they were “trying to come to terms with the senseless shooting” that claimed the life of the father of four.

“No words can describe the pain of our loss,” the statement said.

“Adam and Katrina were living their best lives together. Their shared love of family and friends, travel and sport – if not always the same team – made their time together truly special.

“Adam’s loves in life were his English Premier League football team Liverpool, his AFL team the Sydney Swans, the NRL’s Manly Sea Eagles and his beloved pets.

“We will forever cherish the time we have had with him. Adam was a generous and kind person who will be dearly missed and is forever irreplaceable.

“You’ll never walk alone.”

Police say those killed in the attack ranged in age from 10 to 87.

A further 40 people were injured, with 17 still in hospital as of Thursday morning. Five patients remain in a critical but stable condition, while 12 are described as serious but stable.

NSW Health Minister Ryan Park said there had been some positive developments in the days since the attack.

“That is really good news and really positive to see that we’ve had five discharged,” he told 2GB.

“It will be a long and difficult road ahead, but we will make sure the NSW Health System does everything it can to smooth that road, and we as a community will wrap our arms around those two police officers and the other victims.”
