The Princess of Wales has captured the warmth of the season in the UK – and the heart of the nation – with a moving new video urging people to “simply love, and be loved”.

Released as the second instalment in her Mother Nature series, the short film was inspired by the healing power of nature and was created during Catherine’s recovery from cancer. Her words, brimming with optimism and compassion, encourage cherishing “the bonds of love and friendship” and celebrating the beauty of togetherness.

“Summer is a season for abundance,” Kate narrates over sunlit scenes. “Just as the flowers bloom and the fruits ripen, we too are reminded of our own potential for growth. The days are still long, so simply love, and be loved.”

Filmed by long-time family collaborator Will Warr, the 1:42-minute clip does not feature the Prince and Princess or their three children, but bears Kate’s personal touch from start to finish: scripted, voiced and commissioned while she was undergoing chemotherapy.

The project’s latest release coincides with the Northern Hemisphere’s peak summer, where golden afternoons have brought soaring temperatures across parts of the UK. Kate’s message draws on the season’s sense of connection, from shared laughter at picnics to fleeting but treasured moments between friends and family.

Nature has long been at the heart of the Princess’s public work, and she has often spoken about how the outdoors became a sanctuary during her health journey. The first episode in the Mother Nature series, Spring, debuted in May, capturing themes of “hope and new beginnings” with scenes from the British coastline, city parks, and the Isle of Mull, where she and Prince William marked their 14th wedding anniversary.

For now, the Wales family is enjoying the school holidays, with a visit to Balmoral Castle in the Scottish Highlands planned before the new term begins in September. But in this latest seasonal chapter, Catherine’s message is clear: summer is a time to open our hearts, embrace life’s fleeting joys and let love be the season’s brightest sunshine.
