As Australians continue to stay home amid coronavirus restrictions, it has become more important than ever to find ways to stay fit and active indoors.
Now, an exercise and health firm has created a new free class to keep Aussies over 60 moving.
This Wednesday, Active Seniors will be livestreaming the country’s biggest online exercise class for seniors.
The 30-minute class will offer two different levels of exercises focusing on strength, balance and mobility. Staff – who are all accredited exercise physiologists – will be present throughout the class to ensure the safety of the streamers and answer any questions or concerns.
“Our aim is to engage as many seniors as possible to keep active and connected during this period of self-isolation,” said founder and managing director Dr Taylor Harrison.
“[The class] will focus on practical and positive strategies for seniors to remain active at home.”
Those interested in joining will be able to access the livestream through Facebook, Zoom and YouTube on Wednesday, April 29 at 11am EST. Registration is essential on the Active Seniors’ website.
