John Travolta has shared a new glimpse into life with his son Benjamin, posting a heartfelt video that highlighted the striking family resemblance between them.

Travolta, who has been raising his children Benjamin, 14, and Ella, 25, on his own since the death of their mother Kelly Preston in 2020, offered fans a look at a quiet moment from their time in Norway.

Preston died from cancer at the age of 57.

The 71-year-old actor posted a video on Instagram showing himself and Benjamin trekking through a snowy mountain landscape. In the clip, Benjamin climbs to a lookout point, taking in sweeping views of the Scandinavian scenery.

“Ain’t no mountain high enough for my son Ben. Love from Norway,” Travolta wrote, pairing the footage with Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell’s 1967 recording of Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

Among the many supportive comments, Ella added her own reaction with a raised hands emoji and a heart eyes emoji.

Travolta and Preston married in 1991 and shared three children: Ella and Benjamin, as well as their eldest son Jett, who died at age 16 in 2009.

Jett, who had a history of seizures, suffered one while on a family trip to the Bahamas and fatally struck his head on a bathtub on January 2, 2009.

In April, Travolta marked what would have been Jett’s 33rd birthday, writing on Instagram, “Happy birthday Jett – I miss you so much! Love you forever!”

Then in October, on what would have been Preston’s 63rd birthday, Travolta shared a photo of her accompanied by a recording of himself singing the 1940s standard Come Rain or Come Shine, a song made famous by artists including Frank Sinatra, Judy Garland, Ella Fitzgerald and Ray Charles.

“I recorded this song for Kelly and I want to share it with you all on her birthday. Happy birthday Kelly, we love you. – John, Ella and Ben,” he wrote.

Travolta has spoken openly about grief and the challenges of navigating loss. In a 2021 interview with Esquire Spain, he reflected on the personal nature of mourning.

“I learned that crying and mourning over someone is something personal. Mourning is individual and experiencing your own journey is what can lead to healing,” he said.
