Jackie O Henderson has filed legal action against ARN, after her $100 million contract was terminated.

In a statement to the ASX, ARN confirmed she has commenced legal action and requested “at least” $82 million in compensation.

“Ms Jacqueline Henderson and her related company have commenced legal proceedings against ARN,” the statement began.

The Kyle and Jackie O Show came to an end last month after an on-air row between Henderson and her former co-star Kyle Sandilands.

The radio network confirmed that Henderson had filed a letter saying she could no longer work with Sandilands and “made psychosocial health and safety and bullying complaints in relation to the conduct of Mr Sandilands”.

ARN alleged the letter “involved the exercise or proposal to exercise workplace rights, and that the contract was terminated because of that exercise or proposed exercise”.

The network also confirmed that Henderson is claiming compensation of “at least $82,250,000 and payment of a pecuniary penalty, plus interest and costs.”

ARN will dispute the claims and intends to defend the proceedings, “given the early stage of the matter”.

“ARN is unable to reliably estimate the outcome or any potential financial impact.”

Last week Sandilands appeared in Federal Court in Sydney for the first time and denied allegations of misconduct after his contract was also terminated.

“I want to get back to work as quick as possible. I’ve got a family to support,” he said on Friday.

The former radio duo had been due to remain on air until at least 2034 as part of their contract with ARN.
