Rising tennis star Cruz Hewitt is continuing to follow in his dad’s footsteps.

On Monday, Lleyton Hewitt and his wife, actress Bec Hewitt, appeared with their 16-year-old son at the 2025 Newcombe Medal ceremony in Melbourne, marking a rare red carpet outing for the family.

Cruz was recognised on the night, receiving the Male Junior Athlete of the Year Award.

Tennis star Alex de Minaur was awarded the prestigious Newcombe Medal.

Former world No.1 Lleyton, 44, wore a classic black suit and tie, while Cruz opted for a pale beige suit.

Bec, 42, chose a dark Miu Miu slip dress and wore her hair pulled back.

Earlier this year, Cruz made his Wimbledon debut, though he was eliminated in the early stages of the boys’ competition.

Lleyton and Bec are also parents to musician Mia, 19, and dancer Ava, 14.

The couple, who are known for maintaining a private family life, celebrated their 20th wedding anniversary this year, having married in July 2005.

Bec met Lleyton when she was still known as Bec Cartwright and starring in the long-running Australian soap Home and Away.

Their relationship quickly became one of Australia’s most high-profile pairings of the early 2000s – a leading tennis champion and a prominent television actor and singer.

They spent several years living in the Bahamas before returning to Australia, where they later settled first in Melbourne and more recently in Sydney.

Marking their 16th anniversary in 2021, Lleyton shared a tribute to his wife alongside a black-and-white photo, writing, Hard to believe it’s been 16 years….” and “Happy anniversary and Happy Birthday to my beautiful wife Bec, you’re the best!”
