The Queen is set to spend one last moment alone with Prince Philip, her husband of over 73 years before he is laid to rest on Saturday.

The Duke of Edinburgh died “peacefully” at Windsor on April 9, and the royal family has spent the last week preparing for his funeral.

Her Majesty has reportedly been preparing for her late husband’s funeral, making sure it honours his final wishes.

And on Saturday, she will take one final moment for herself right before the official funeral proceedings begin.

The Queen will take one last look at her husband’s coffin before it is moved to St. George’s Chapel for the ceremony, The Mirror reports.

It is reported that she will take a “moment of reflection” before making her way to the Chapel for the funeral, where she will be joined by other senior members of the royal family.

Senior royals, including Prince Charles, Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, are expected to be by the Queen’s side on Saturday.

Prince Harry travelled from the US to the UK earlier this week in order to attend the funeral, and has been in isolation in the lead up.

The funeral guest list has been limited due to coronavirus restrictions in the UK, and the Queen will be expected to sit alone during the ceremony in keeping with social distancing rules.
