Dr Chris Brown has confirmed his relationship with former TV publicist Lorraine Monforte and revealed that he is “really happy”.

The notoriously private TV star shared rare details about their relationship in an interview with Stellar’s Something to Talk About podcast.

The confirmation comes after the couple were photographed together at the Australian Grand Prix last month.

Brown revealed that they first met while Monforte was still working as a publicist and were friends for some time.

“And that’s essentially all it was for quite a period of time,” Brown said.

“But she gets TV and she gets the media landscape. So she understands when the phrase ‘hard launch’ is used, where that’s coming from, so she’s able to laugh at it.”

He added that Monforte finds the attention on his dating life “funny” and made a light-hearted comment on the rumours surrounding his love life.

“If you’re getting photographed, it’s a compliment that someone in some magazine office believes you’re of interest,” Brown said.

“That’s a good thing to a certain extent — that you’re someone people want to talk about.

“I think by last count, I’ve had nine babies. I’ve been married or engaged seven times. You’ve just got to find that funny, right?”

The TV star said he now takes dating rumours in stride and laughs them off when he runs into women he has been linked to.

Brown also talked about his new hosting gig on My Reno Rules, where teams will renovate two rundown 1970s homes into modern properties. The show is set to air on Channel 7 Tuesday night.
