Country superstar Dolly Parton has cancelled a string of upcoming shows as she’s required to undergo multiple “procedures” due to her health.

The 79-year-old singer announced that she would have to push back six Las Vegas shows booked for this December to September next year.

“I want the fans and public to hear directly from me that, unfortunately, I will need to postpone my upcoming Las Vegas concerts,” she wrote in the announcement.

“As many of you know, I have been dealing with some health challenges, and my doctors tell me that I must have a few procedures.”

Parton, then joked that the health issues were “not the usual trip to see my plastic surgeon,” and added that she was due for her “100,000-mile check-up.”

Despite the show being more than two months away, the star explained the procedures meant she would not have time to recover and “be able to rehearse and put together the show that I want you to see, and the show that you deserve to see. You pay good money to see me perform, and I want to be at my best for you.”

Parton continued saying that while she had no plans to retire, she is taking this as a sign to slow down.

“And don’t worry about me quittin’ the business because God hasn’t said anything about stopping yet. But, I believe He is telling me to slow down right now so I can be ready for more big adventures with all of you. I love you and thank you for understanding.”

Fans have shared their well-wishes for the star, with one writing: “Glad Dolly is making her health first priority. I hope she makes a speedy and full recovery, from whatever her ailment is.”

“Get well soon, Dolly! We love you and praying for a speedy recovery,” another commented.

“Sending so much healing energy and love,” a third wrote.
