Neighbours legend Terence Donovan has marked his 90th birthday in true showbiz style – showing off his dance moves with the help of his walker.
The beloved actor, best known for his role as Doug Willis in the hit soap, was joined by his son Jason Donovan, who captured the heartwarming moment and shared it with fans online.
In the video, Terence can be seen dancing to Razzle Dazzle from the musical Chicago, grinning as Jason filmed and cheered him on.
“Thank you for all your wonderful messages this week about my Dad!” Jason, 57, wrote in the post shared to Instagram.
“Following a much celebrated and deserved 90th birthday, I thought I’d share this magical moment as a post.
“In true showbiz style, with all the Razzle Dazzle, this is what 90 looks like. On fire, alive and kicking! Love you Dad.”
Fans and friends flooded the comments with birthday wishes, including fellow Neighbours stars Annie Jones, who left a heart-eyes emoji, and Lucinda Cowden, who wrote: “Happy birthday Terry!!”
Others praised the milestone moment, with one fan writing, “Bravo! I want to have that energy if I get to 90,” while another added, “Love him!! What a star through and through.”
Terence has long been a fixture of Australian television, with roles in Neighbours, Home and Away, Division 4, Cop Shop, Prisoner, Sons and Daughters, and A Country Practice.
He first joined Neighbours in 1990 as Doug Willis, the loveable builder and patriarch of the Willis family. He stayed until 1994 before reprising the role for the show’s 20th-anniversary special in 2005, and again in 2014 before Doug’s on-screen death in 2016.
Jason Donovan, who famously played Scott Robinson on Neighbours before launching a successful music career, grew up with his father in Melbourne.
In 2003, the pair appeared on screen together again in the ABC drama MDA, with Terence playing Eric Savage, the father of Jason’s character.
