Richard Pusey has been charged and remanded after allegedly posting a photo online of one of the dead police officers who was killed in the Eastern Freeway tragedy in Melbourne.
He appeared in court just days after a State Memorial Service was held to honour the lives of the four policemen killed in the 2020 incident.
Pusey, who was sentenced to 10 months in prison in April last year after pleading guilty to the rare charge of outraging public decency for filming the aftermath of the crash, was arrested on Wednesday by police acting on a warrant.
The former mortgage broker was taken into police custody and charged with two counts of use telecommunications device to menace and two counts of commit indictable offence whilst on bail.
After posting the photo to his Instagram account, many people called him out in the comments saying he had “hit a new low” and “should be in jail”.
His latest charges follow an investigation into two separate incidents which occurred in November 2021 and February 2022, according to Victoria Police.
