The final surviving members of The Beatles have reunited, with Paul McCartney releasing a new duet featuring Ringo Starr.
The song, Home To Us, was released on Friday in the UK and appears on McCartney’s upcoming solo album, The Boys Of Dungeon Lane.
The track also includes backing vocals from Chrissie Hynde and Sharleen Spiteri.
McCartney’s new album reflects on his childhood in Liverpool and his early years alongside late Beatles bandmates George Harrison and John Lennon before the group found global fame.
The 14-track album takes its name from Dungeon Lane, an area near McCartney’s childhood home in Forthlin Road in Liverpool’s Speke district.
The singer said the project was inspired by “a lot of memories of Liverpool”.
“We didn’t have much at all but it didn’t matter because all the people were great and you didn’t notice you didn’t have much,” he said.
The album, McCartney’s first in five years, is due for release on May 29 and will also include new love songs and reflections on his life before fame.
Its lead single, Days We Left Behind, was released in March.
The record was produced by Andrew Watt and work on it began almost five years ago with the opening track, As You Lie There.
Starr also recently released a solo album, Long Long Road, featuring collaborations with Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow and St. Vincent.
The Beatles formed in 1960 and went on to become one of the most influential and successful bands in music history, producing hits including Help!, Hey Jude and She Loves You.
Following the group’s split in 1970, McCartney launched a successful solo career and later formed Wings with his late wife Linda McCartney and guitarist Denny Laine.
