Magnum has been named Australia’s most popular single-serve ice cream of 2025.
The brand recorded more than 19 million sales in New South Wales alone across supermarkets, petrol stations and convenience stores.
Outside supermarket retail, it was the Golden Gaytime that Aussies reached for most often, with approximately 6.7 million sold in NSW this year.
The findings were released in the Streets Unwrapped report for 2025, published by Streets, part of The Magnum Ice Cream Company.
Australian consumers continue to favour single-serve ice creams year-round, the report shows.
Twenty-nine per cent of sales occur in summer, followed by 26 per cent in spring, 24 per cent in autumn and 21 per cent in winter.
Single-serve products outsell tubs two to one in supermarkets, cementing them as the preferred format for ice-cream lovers nationwide.
Among Streets’ broader range, Paddle Pops and Bubble ’O Bills remain consistent favourites. Chocolate is the top-selling Paddle Pop flavour, ahead of Rainbow and Banana.
Aussies also went through more than 33 tonnes of Bubble ’O Bill bubble-gum noses this year. The noses come in pink, red and green, and an enduring urban legend suggests a blue version once existed, although this has not been verified.
Peters continues to dominate the nostalgic end of the single-serve category, led by its iconic Drumstick, followed by the Monaco Bar.
Bulla has also strengthened its position, particularly with its Choc Bars and Splits ranges.
Aldi has seen strong demand for its limited-edition Allen’s Bites Banana Minis ice creams, currently available only for a short time. The retailer’s “Limited Time Only” range also includes Kapiti Marlborough Salted Caramel & Macadamia Ice Cream, Kapiti Affogato Ice Cream, Kapiti Nelson Boysenberry Ice Cream and the exclusive Peters Family Favourites 16-Pack.
Aldi continues to offer its own takes on Australian classics, such as the Summer Delight, similar to a Golden Gaytime, and Plat-a-Pops, similar to Paddle Pops.
Coles and Woolworths also report strong sales of their home-brand single-serve ranges. Coles’ Strawberry & Chocolate Milkshake Pops were recently awarded the Product of the Year 2026 Ice Cream Individual Stick category.
Its top performers include Coles Choc Coated Vanilla Sticks, Coles Mango Sorbet Sticks and Coles Irresistible Almond Ice Cream Sticks, alongside steady demand for various single-serve ice blocks.
Coles also cites healthy sales of its Coles Loaded Crunch, Coles Mini Cones and Coles Mixed Pack Pops.
At Woolworths, popular lines include Woolworths Ice Cream Cones in Vanilla and Choc Mint, Woolworths Ice Cream Sandwich in Cookies & Cream and Choc Mint, Woolworths Choc Coated Dessert Sticks, and Woolworths Popsicles in Chocolate and Swirly flavours.
