Beatles fans will get the chance to hear 13 previously unreleased songs with a new Anthology compilation due out in November 2025.

First released three decades ago in 1995, The Beatles’ eight-part Anthology series redefined the music documentary, featuring John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Sir Ringo Starr openly recounting the story of the band’s history.

The series introduced the group to new generations of listeners and viewers and marked the start of a creative and commercial afterlife that continues to this day.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Anthology series, fans will receive a new Anthology album and a ninth episode of the documentary, which will stream on Disney+.

The new episode offers unseen backstage footage of McCartney, Harrison, and Starr uniting between 1994 and 1995 to create the Anthology collections following the death of their late bandmate John Lennon, who was shot in New York in December 1980, reflecting on their shared life as The Beatles.

Anthology 4 is scheduled for release on November 21, 2025 in a new box set, alongside remastered versions of Anthology 1, 2, and 3, courtesy of Giles Martin, son of Beatles producer George Martin.

Along with 13 unheard tracks are demos, session recordings, and other rare material, it also includes new mixes of Anthology-associated hit singles Free as a Bird and Real Love, given new life by their original producer Jeff Lynne using de-mixed Lennon vocals.

Both new mixes are paired with the band’s most recent UK number-one single, 2023’s Grammy-winning Now and Then, released as the last ever Beatles song.

All three singles were created from rudimentary home demos Lennon recorded in the 1970s, later completed with vocal and instrumental contributions from McCartney, Starr, and Harrison, who died in November 2001 from cancer aged 58.

The original eight episodes of the series trace the legendary journey of The Beatles from Liverpool and Hamburg to global fame. The documentary covers Beatlemania, their groundbreaking arrival in America, their role in the 1960s counterculture, spiritual exploration in India, and eventual breakup.

The restoration has been overseen by Apple Corps’ production team, working with Peter Jackson’s Wingnut Films and Park Road Post, along with Giles Martin, who created new audio mixes for most of the featured music.

Across all the Anthology albums, there are 191 tracks set for release on November 21 by Apple Corps Ltd/UMG, available for digital purchase and streaming, and in deluxe 12LP 180-gram vinyl and 8CD box sets.

Both box sets include the original sleeve notes for Anthology 1, 2, and 3, while the new Anthology 4 features track notes by Kevin Howlett and an introduction compiled from 1996 interviews with The Beatles’ close friend and adviser Derek Taylor. Exclusive editions from The Beatles Store also include four 12-inch band photo art cards in a numbered envelope.

The Anthology documentary series, including the new episode, will stream on Disney+ from November 26.
