More charges have been laid over the alleged kidnapping and murder of Sydney grandfather Chris Baghsarian.

Police were told the 85-year-old had been kidnapped from his North Ryde home on Friday, February 13, in what they say was a case of mistaken identity.

His remains were located near a golf club in Pitt Town, Sydney’s north west on February 24, following an investigation.

Six people have previously been charged in relation to his kidnapping and death.

On Thursday, police executed a search warrant at a property in Canley Vale, where the car allegedly used to relocate Baghsarian’s body was stored. The car was later abandoned and partially destroyed in Westmead.

Police seized a rifle, $66,300 in cash, 11 grams of cocaine, five ecstasy tablets, one gram of cannabis, steroids, a black mask, and electronic devices from the property.

A 23-year-old man was arrested and charged with dealing with the proceeds of crime and drug offences. He was released on bail and is set to appear in court on August 5.

Police have also released new CCTV footage of a vehicle of interest, appealing for the public’s help in locating the blue Mitsubishi Lancer sedan.

The car was seen driving on the M5 in Moorebank on February 2 and on Vimiera Road in Marsfield on February 12.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
