Sarah Ferguson’s intimate underwear confession

<p>Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson’s marriage was plagued by high-profile problems. </p> <p>With one scandal after another, it’s a surprise the pair managed to maintain a close bond throughout it all.</p> <p>When the Prince announced his engagement to a “commoner” in 1986, the world reacted with excitement and Fergie was considered a great match by all including the Queen.</p> <p>But the adoration slowly started dwindling, after constant comparisons to the late Princess Diana.</p> <p>"She was often contrasted with Diana and in those early days Sarah came out of the contrast rather well, " explained Tom Quinn, author of <em>Kensington Palace: An Intimate Memoir</em>.</p> <p>"Diana was often seen as rather pale and wilting, this delicate flower, whereas Fergie was robust."</p> <p>And as she took charge of her royal responsibilities, she started to feel the pressure after she was branded as rebellious and unsophisticated. </p> <p>"All of [Sarah's] natural charm that had been celebrated initially began to be seen as rather unsophisticated and inappropriate," said historian Dr Anna Whitelock.</p> <p>It didn’t help her case when she made an intimate confession about her underwear that caused a stir.</p> <p>Fergie landed herself in hot water when she raved about her designer French clothing at a reception before joking to the press she was "wearing Marks and Spencer knickers".</p> <p>"This is not what you're expecting the Duchess of York to say. And remember the previous Duchess of York had been the Queen Mother," explained journalist and broadcaster Eva Pollard.</p> <p>"You're talking about a changing view of the royal family. The culture changing. They slipped down from the pedestal.</p> <p>The incident did not go down well, as some believed Fergie was influencing Diana in a bad way.</p> <p>Dr Anna Whitelock said: "There was a sense Fergie liked to have fun and play jokes.</p> <p>"But actually it began to wear rather thin and she was seen increasingly as a bad unsophisticated influence on Diana and Prince Andrew and something of a loose cannon."</p> <p>Fergie and Andrew split in 1992 and were divorced by 1996. </p> <p>Sarah was not allowed to use the title Her Royal Highness by August of that year</p>

Woman admits Kmart undies “saved my life”

<p>An Aussie woman has shared her hilarious method that got rid of a pack of youths lurking outside her home, and she owes all her thanks to her undies.</p> <p>“Need security for your home? Wanting to scare people away?! The things you should never do with your bras

<p>Bras are an essential (and sometimes costly) part of most women’s everyday lives.</p> <p>Do you find you’re replacing yours at a rapid rate? It could be because you’re not treating them correctly. If you take good care of your bras, they should last you for years.</p> <p>Thankfully, the <a href="https://www.goodhousekeeping.co.uk/institute/household-advice/clothing-and-fabric-care/three-mistakes-youre-making-with-your-bra">Good Housekeeping Institute</a> has shared the biggest mistakes women are making when it comes to our underwear – and you’ll be relieved to know they’re pretty easy to fix.</p> <p>How many mistakes are you guilty of? From where you store your bras to how you wash them, here’s what to avoid so you can get years of good use out of them before they need replacing.</p> <p><strong>DON’T: Wash them too often</strong></p> <p>Unlike undies, you can wear your bra a few times before needing to wash it.</p> <p>“Every few wears should be sufficient, but it does depend on your activity level,” says Lexie Sachs from the Good Housekeeping Institute.</p> <p>For instance, if you’re active and wear sports bras, these will need to be washed more often than your everyday bras.</p> <p>But Lexie warns, be careful of washing your bras too often.</p> <p>“Over-washing can damage the elasticity, which is essential for providing the proper support.”</p> <p>If you don’t already, washing your bras in a lingerie bag or pillowcase – and avoiding popping them in the dryer – can help keep them in shape and last longer, whilst minimising damage.</p> <p><img width="500" height="334" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7817788/shutterstock_443126386_500x334.jpg" alt="Shutterstock _443126386"/></p> <p><strong>DON’T: Keep them in a drawer</strong></p> <p>Hands up who is guilty of this? The Good Housekeeping Institute says storing your bras in a drawer is a mistake, even though this would be the obvious way most women would keep their delicates.</p> <p>How you store your bras is particularly important between washes, as storing them in a drawer may encourage sweat and dust to “fester” – which could lead to bad odour or irritation, according to the Good Housekeeping Institute.</p> <p>Their advice? Hang your bras. But not by the straps as this may cause stretching. It is recommended you hang them from the centre or leave them out somewhere “flat”.</p> <p><strong>DON’T: Buy the wrong size</strong></p> <p>If you have never been correctly fitted for a bra, you might be surprised to learn you have been buying the completely wrong size all these years.</p> <p>Many women find a bra size they feel comfortable wearing and stick to it – assuming it is the correct fit.</p> <p>But unfortunately, this is often not the case.</p> <p>Even if you avoided a bra fitting in your teens or 20s, it’s never too late to get fitted correctly, as breast shape can fluctuate over the years due to hormones and weight changes.</p> <p>So, next time you are looking to purchase a new bra, consider getting measured and ensure you buy one that you can only hook on the first clasp, so you have the option of tightening your bra down the track if it stretches.</p> <p> </p>

Have we been putting our bras on wrong this whole time?

<p>Putting on a bra is something most women do every day, and let’s face it, it’s not exactly rocket science. But according to the label on one Twitter user’s new bra, we may have been doing it wrong this whole time.</p> <p>Activist and writer Brittany Packnett took to Twitter recently to share the instructions that came with her new bra, and if the response is anything to go by, a lot of women had no idea how to put it on properly.</p> <p><img width="600" height="800" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/44379/dl9q-jexkaagxjn_600x800.jpg" alt="DL9q -j EXk AAGXJn" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"/></p> <p>“I’ve been putting on my bras wrong for 20 years,” she wrote alongside the photo. “You probably have, too.”</p> <p>And it seems she was right. </p> <p>“I thought it was supposed to be on middle hook for ideal fit,” one woman wrote. “Guess I’m a messed-up bra wearer too!”</p> <p>Another clarified, explaining you should start on the loosest hook, “so you have room to go when it invariably stretches out”.</p> <p>One bra expert offered another clever tip. </p> <p>“Your bra band should be parallel to the floor all the way around. If it hikes up the back. Lingerie expert Allison Beale has revealed to <a href="http://www.bustle.com/articles/185189-how-to-properly-care-for-your-lingerie-according-to-an-expert" target="_blank"><strong><span style="text-decoration: underline;">Bustle</span></strong></a> the four secrets to keeping your most comfortable, most beautiful and most expensive delicates go the distance.</p> <ol start="1"> <li>Don’t wash bras after just one wear – it may sound like common sense, but for the more germaphobic among us, it can be tempting to wash bras after each wear. “Constant washing can actually break down the materials that provide support and can damage the bra's structure,” Beale says. One wash every six to seven wears is plenty.</li> <li>Always hand wash – it might be more convenient to throw your lingerie in the washing machine, but if you want them to last, use a bit of elbow grease and hand wash in lukewarm water with a detergent specifically designed for delicates. Gently wring out the water and lay flat to dry.</li> <li>Never machine dry – “under no circumstance should you put your lingerie in the dryer,” Beale says.</li> <li>Hang your lingerie – if you have the space, hang your extra-delicate pieces when storing to keep their shape. Grandson not ashamed of his grandparent’s underwear

<p>He might not know it, but the little boy in this video is putting grandchildren everywhere to shame, simply by helping with his grandparent’s dirty laundry. He doesn’t even flinch when he has to deal with some of the more-risqué elements of their wardrobe.</p> <p>As he places the dirty clothes in the washing machine, he comes across a pair of his grandmother’s underpants. But instead of recoiling in disgust as an older child might, he says, “I like that one.” His mother, who films the chore, can’t container her laughter.</p> <p>What an adorable little helper. “Cat burglar” caught stealing dozens of underwear

<p>Brigit, a six-year-old Tonkinese cat, has been caught stealing more than 11 pairs of boxers and 50 pairs of socks since January this year.</p> <p>The kleptomaniac kitty's owner, Sarah Nathan, photographed her cat’s theft to publicly shame her on the internet.
