Man assaults Leigh Sales with tub of yoghurt during speech

<p>An audience member has been removed for throwing a tub of yoghurt at ABC journalist Leigh Sales during a speech she was making in Perth on Sunday.</p> <p>The<span> </span><em>7:30</em><span> </span>host was making a speech for the Disrupted Festival of Ideas at the State Library of Western Australia when the 49-year-old threw the tub of yoghurt.</p> <p>Sales was shocked as a tub of yoghurt struck the lectern in front of her.</p> <p><a rel="noopener" href="https://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/subscribe/news/1/?sourceCode=DTWEB_WRE170_a&amp;dest=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailytelegraph.com.au%2Fnews%2Fnsw%2Fabc-journalist-leigh-sales-continues-speech-after-man-throws-tub-of-yoghurt-at-her%2Fnews-story%2F20cb240d9a63117a370658578ffdc4bf&amp;memtype=registered&amp;mode=premium&amp;v21suffix=57-a#command-form" target="_blank"><em>The Daily Telegraph</em></a> reported the contents of the tub “sprayed her legs, the stage and the curtains behind her”.</p> <p>However, Sales has reported that she is “totally fine!” in a tweet.</p> <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-lang="en-gb"> <p dir="ltr">Oh dear, have just landed from the Perth-Syd flight to a kerfuffle over something minor - thanks for the concern, I'm totally fine! Woman reveals her genius $5 Kmart shopping hack in the wake of plastic bag ban

<p>In the wake of a nationwide plastic bag ban coming into effect July 2, customers are sharing their inventive ways to carrying groceries – without purchasing the supermarkets' new reusable bags.</p> <p>One mother from Western Australia shared her simple, but clever hack with Facebook group “Kmart Mums Australia”. </p> <p>Ashleigh Hair posted a picture of her nifty idea involving a plastic tub that costs just $5.</p> <p>She wrote in the private Facebook group: “With the plastic ban looming here in WA I now keep one of the $5 Kmart flexible tubs in my boot.”</p> <p>“I find it a lot quicker and easier for my shopping!” she said.</p> <p><img width="377" height="453" src="http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/newpix/2018/06/26/11/4DA5396C00000578-5886527-image-m-2_1530007972158.jpg" alt="In the wake of Woolworths plastic bag ban, customers have had to invent creative ways of lugging groceries around without purchasing the new reusable options" class="blkBorder img-share b-loaded" style="display: block; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;" id="i-2f3dc3d85701eafe"/></p> <p>Ashleigh added that she much prefers the plastic tub over fabric bags, which she said can easily get dirty without proper care.</p> <p>“Let's be honest - I know I'm never going to remember to wash my fabric bags!” she told Daily Mail Australia.”</p> <p>“So when I spotted the flexible tub in Kmart, I thought it would be a simple, hygienic solution.”</p> <p>“Can't complain about the price either - $5, bargain!”</p> <p>Ashleigh said groceries could be easily transferred to the plastic tub, which then can be placed directly into the car.</p> <p>“The plastic tub, while I understand that it isn't as environmentally friendly as say a cardboard box- it is easier for me to clean, and to remember to put into the car,” she added.</p> <p>Many Facebook users were quick to praise the women’s idea, while others pointed out that Ashleigh’s idea was actually against the whole idea of the plastic bag ban.</p>

Ice-cream lovers rejoice: Golden Gaytime now comes in a tub

<p>It’s a revelation Australians have been waiting for the nation over: Golden Gaytime ice-cream is finally available in a tub.</p> <p>Following a Facebook-implemented campaign titled the, “Golden Gaytime Ice Cream Tub Project” which garnered over 3000 followers, Streets Ice Cream company has released an ice-cream version of the Australian dessert staple.</p> <p>While the tubs only come in 1.25L sizes for the price of $6.99, it’s still a win for the campaigners… and ice-cream lovers everywhere. The campaign in question stated its mission was intended to “force Streets to make an ice cream tub of 1L/2L Golden Gaytime. They would also need to make sure the biscuits hold up using... science or magic.”</p> <p>After writing a letter to the company, the group’s wishes were recently granted. A spokesperson of Streets Ice Cream spoke on the matter: “We have managed to fit Golden Gaytime into a tub with Golden Gaytime classic and two other new flavours. Each is a perfect union of vanilla, Gaytime biscuit crumbs and that unique Gaytime flavour.
