Daughter's incredible gesture surprises her cancer-stricken mother

A brave mother fighting cancer has burst into tears at her daughter's amazing display of solidarity, as her mum continues to battle through chemotherapy.

Tracy Mulcahy has been fighting a devastating diagnosis of stage four high-grade ovarian cancer and had started to lose her hair after relentless chemo treatment.

Tracy and her daughter Sophie headed to their local hairdressers, where they have become like family after seven years, where Sophie was given the task of shaving her mum's head.

To everyone's surprise, Sophie was handed the razor and decided to shave off her own long blonde hair in an emotional display of solitary and strength.

Both women burst into tears and held one another, while there was not a dry eye in the salon from other clients and hairdressers.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by ⚡️SOUTH WEST BLONDE SPECIALIST ⚡️ (@bambiblonde__)

The heartwarming moment was captured by the Bambi Blonde salon and posted to their Instagram, where the post racked up hundreds of thousands of likes and comments of support from all over the world.

"The whole salon was in tears," owner Claire Lovett said.

Sophie has since revealed she decided to do it because she didn't want her mother to "go through this alone".

"She means the absolute world to me. Alzheimer’s may have once spread from person to person, but the risk of that happening today is incredibly low

Steve Macfarlane, Monash University

An article published this week in the prestigious journal Nature Medicine documents what is believed to be the first evidence that Alzheimer’s disease can be transmitted from person to person.

The finding arose from long-term follow up of patients who received human growth hormone (hGH) that was taken from brain tissue of deceased donors.

Preparations of donated hGH were used in medicine to treat a variety of conditions from 1959 onwards – including in Australia from the mid 60s.

The practice stopped in 1985 when it was discovered around 200 patients worldwide who had received these donations went on to develop Creuztfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD), which causes a rapidly progressive dementia. This is an otherwise extremely rare condition, affecting roughly one person in a million.

What’s CJD got to do with Alzehimer’s?

CJD is caused by prions: infective particles that are neither bacterial or viral, but consist of abnormally folded proteins that can be transmitted from cell to cell.

Other prion diseases include kuru, a dementia seen in New Guinea tribespeople caused by eating human tissue, scrapie (a disease of sheep) and variant CJD or bovine spongiform encephalopathy, otherwise known as mad cow disease. This raised public health concerns over the eating of beef products in the United Kingdom in the 1980s.

Human growth hormone used to come from donated organs

Human growth hormone (hGH) is produced in the brain by the pituitary gland. Treatments were originally prepared from purified human pituitary tissue.

But because the amount of hGH contained in a single gland is extremely small, any single dose given to any one patient could contain material from around 16,000 donated glands.

An average course of hGH treatment lasts around four years, so the chances of receiving contaminated material – even for a very rare condition such as CJD – became quite high for such people.

hGH is now manufactured synthetically in a laboratory, rather than from human tissue. So this particular mode of CJD transmission is no longer a risk.

What are the latest findings about Alzheimer’s disease?

The Nature Medicine paper provides the first evidence that transmission of Alzheimer’s disease can occur via human-to-human transmission.

The authors examined the outcomes of people who received donated hGH until 1985. They found five such recipients had developed early-onset Alzheimer’s disease.

They considered other explanations for the findings but concluded donated hGH was the likely cause.

Given Alzheimer’s disease is a much more common illness than CJD, the authors presume those who received donated hGH before 1985 may be at higher risk of developing Alzheimer’s disease.

Alzheimer’s disease is caused by presence of two abnormally folded proteins: amyloid and tau. There is increasing evidence these proteins spread in the brain in a similar way to prion diseases. So the mode of transmission the authors propose is certainly plausible.

However, given the amyloid protein deposits in the brain at least 20 years before clinical Alzheimer’s disease develops, there is likely to be a considerable time lag before cases that might arise from the receipt of donated hGH become evident.

When was this process used in Australia?

In Australia, donated pituitary material was used from 1967 to 1985 to treat people with short stature and infertility.

More than 2,000 people received such treatment. Four developed CJD, the last case identified in 1991. All four cases were likely linked to a single contaminated batch.

The risks of any other cases of CJD developing now in pituitary material recipients, so long after the occurrence of the last identified case in Australia, are considered to be incredibly small.

Early-onset Alzheimer’s disease (defined as occurring before the age of 65) is uncommon, accounting for around 5% of all cases. Below the age of 50 it’s rare and likely to have a genetic contribution.

The risk is very low – and you can’t ‘catch’ it like a virus

The Nature Medicine paper identified five cases which were diagnosed in people aged 38 to 55. This is more than could be expected by chance, but still very low in comparison to the total number of patients treated worldwide.

Although the long “incubation period” of Alzheimer’s disease may mean more similar cases may be identified in the future, the absolute risk remains very low. The main scientific interest of the article lies in the fact it’s first to demonstrate that Alzheimer’s disease can be transmitted from person to person in a similar way to prion diseases, rather than in any public health risk.

The authors were keen to emphasise, as I will, that Alzheimer’s cannot be contracted via contact with or providing care to people with Alzheimer’s disease.<!-- Below is The Conversation's page counter tag. All of the incredible royal jewels Queen Mary just inherited

In a weekend filled with regal splendour and historic significance, Crown Princess Mary of Denmark not only ascended to the esteemed title of Queen but also found herself adorned with the resplendent Danish Crown Jewels.

The symbolic transfer of these extraordinary treasures, formerly belonging to Queen Margrethe, marks a momentous chapter in the Danish monarchy, and for Mary, it's a journey into the rich history of royal glamour.

The Danish Crown Jewels, a collection with a lineage spanning centuries, tell a story of devotion, legacy and timeless elegance. Initiated by Queen Sophie Magdalene in the 1700s, each subsequent queen has contributed to and enhanced the collection, resulting in four dazzling "parures", or sets, each a testament to the enduring craftsmanship and artistry of Danish royalty.

The Emerald Set: A Gift of Love Across Generations

At the heart of the collection is the Emerald Set, a masterpiece featuring diadem, necklace, brooch and earrings adorned with emeralds and brilliant-cut diamonds. Originally gifted to Queen Sophie Magdalene in 1723 by King Christian VI, the set exudes a captivating blend of history and sophistication. As Queen Margrethe has demonstrated in the past, the pieces can be worn together or detached for a versatile, regal allure.

Pearl Ruby Set: A Timeless Elegance in Red and White

The Pearl Ruby Set, with its origins in the late 1600s, boasts a pearl necklace from Queen Charlotte Amalie, complemented by a matching pearl, ruby and diamond brooch and earrings. The ensemble, enhanced by Queen Caroline Amalie in the 1840s, mirrors the colours of the Danish flag. The set's adaptability, such as the pendant attachment to the pearl necklace, reflects a harmonious blend of tradition and innovation.

Brilliant Set: Diamonds that Sparkle with History

The Brilliant Set, featuring a brilliant-cut diamond necklace, floral bouquet brooch and earrings dating back to 1840, was the choice of Queen Margrethe for her son Frederik's wedding. This set, rich in symbolism, is a dazzling testament to the enduring sparkle of Danish royalty. Paired with the Floral Aigrette tiara, it adds a touch of timeless grace to any royal occasion.

Rose Cut Set: A Delicate Affair with Rose-Cut Diamonds

The Rose Cut Set, with necklaces and brooches fashioned from rose-cut diamonds, whispers tales of Princess Charlotte Amalie from centuries past. Worn sparingly by Queen Margrethe, it holds a unique place in the collection, and its rare appearances evoke a sense of antiquity and refinement.

For Queen Mary, this accession to the Danish Crown Jewels is not just a privilege but a responsibility to carry forward the legacy of elegance and grace. These jewels, worn by every Queen of Denmark since the 1700s, are not merely adornments; they are a connection to the nation's history and a symbol of continuity.

Reserved for special occasions, such as state visits and the New Year Reception, the Danish Crown Jewels will now find a new muse in Queen Mary. Ensconced within the walls of Rosenborg Castle when not in use, these jewels remain a source of pride for Denmark, a tangible link to its regal past.

As Queen Mary steps into this new chapter of her royal journey, the Danish Crown Jewels will undoubtedly witness many more moments of joy, solemnity and regal radiance, reflecting the enduring spirit of a nation intertwined with its royal heritage.

Images: Instagram / Getty Images

“I couldn’t believe it": Man's incredible find in client's trash

A rubbish removalist’s tendency to upcycle and recycle his clients' trash has led him to a rare discovery.

Jesse Stewart, from Brisbane's Get It Gone Rubbish Removal, recalled the moment he was getting rid of an entertainment unit at the tip, when he found a mistakenly discarded medicine bottle with a wad of cash inside.

“I didn’t think too much of it but when I picked it up it was heavy, and I was like, ‘I wonder what’s in there’,“ he told 7News.

Stewart “couldn’t believe” his luck when he found out the wad of notes amounted to $7000.

“I’ve never found anything like that before," he said.

But being the good samaritan that he was, Stewart returned the money to its rightful owner, a woman in her 60s and his long-time client.

“She was so grateful. She couldn’t believe it,” he said, adding that she did not even realise she had the cash stashed away.

“She didn’t think anyone would be that nice to give it back, so she gave me a few hundred bucks, which was nice," he said, revealing that she gave him a $300 unsolicited reward.

While he did return the money back to its rightful owner, Stewart shared that he did think about keeping it.

“To be honest, my first thought was to keep it,” he laughed.

“The person who owned it has treated me really well over the last year of working for her ... I just felt too guilty, I could not keep it.”

This is not the Brisbane local's first interesting find, as his tendency to upcycle trash has led to a trove of treasures including a haul of rare Australian stamps, an electric scooter and an antique piano.

But, the cash definitely “took the cake”.

“I don’t think I’ll find something like that again,” he said.

Images: Facebook

"She saw it and dodged it": Incredible scenes as tree plunges through seat in Schoolies crash

In a harrowing incident on K'Gari, formerly known as Fraser Island, a group of teenage girls narrowly escaped a potentially tragic accident during their Schoolies celebration.

The friends were exploring the picturesque island off the Queensland coast when a tree crashed through the windscreen of their car, plunging right through the headrest of the passenger seat.

Miraculously, all occupants emerged unscathed from this near-miss, thanks to a combination of quick reflexes and the timely intervention of volunteers from the Fraser Coast Red Frogs.

As the teens ventured through the island's terrain, their joyous celebration took a terrifying turn when a massive tree limb plummeted onto their vehicle. The impact shattered the glass directly in front of the passenger seat, creating a scene of devastation that could have resulted in serious injuries – or worse.

Astonishingly, one of the girls was seated in the passenger seat at the time, and her quick thinking and agility allowed her to dodge the falling debris, narrowly avoiding a potentially life-threatening situation.

Tim Winnington, the Fraser Coast Red Frogs coordinator, described the fortuitous nature of the escape, saying, "There was a girl actually sitting in the passenger seat. She saw it and dodged it. They were so lucky not to get injured."

The Red Frogs, a charity organisation that provides support and education at events like Schoolies and music festivals, played a crucial role in the aftermath of the incident, with volunteers from the organisation waiting with the shaken teenagers until help arrived.

Madhill Motor Group, the generous donor of the ute used by the Red Frogs team, highlighted the gravity of the situation with photos shared on Facebook to demonstrate just how close the call was. The teenagers, treated for shock by paramedics, were fortunate to walk away physically unharmed, a fact not lost on them or their friends.

In the aftermath of the incident, a friend of the girls expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Red Frogs for their swift and effective response. “They were all so lucky to walk away with no one being injured, and very lucky the Red Frogs were on scene so quickly and helped them so much, getting them a room to stay, driving their car for them, cleaning up all the glass and calming them all down in this traumatic experience,” they wrote. “We are all extremely grateful that you were there.”

Images: Facebook

And the clarity and focus I needed to return to my original self and get to work."

"I don’t miss drinking one bit and now I never even think about it," she added.

"I am proud of myself as well - which is a sparkling and meaningful thing.

“In truth – every aspect of my life, energy, positivity and relationships have become so much better in every way since that day,” she wrote.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Chrissie Swan (@chrissieswan)

A few of her celebrity friends took to the comments to congratulate the Masked Singer star on her achievement.

“Congrats mate. Salma Hayek shows off incredibly risque aqua workout

Brace yourself for a splash of laughter and waves of awe as we dive headfirst into the exciting world of Salma Hayek's Instagram antics!

The 56-year-old bombshell is making waves, quite literally, as she takes her 25 million followers on a jaw-dropping journey through her favourite pool workout.

In a display of gratitude for her loyal fans' undying "love & support," Salma posted a sultry workout video that left her followers gasping for breath (and possibly reconsidering their own exercise routines). Sporting a teeny-weeny bikini, she flaunted her fabulous figure, proving once again why her Instagram following is through the roof.

“I can’t believe it, 25 million followers! Thank you soo soo much to every single one of you,” Salma captioned the sizzling clip." 🙏 Seeing as you all like my bikini pictures the most 👙, here’s a bikini work out for you all. I hate exercising- but I love to celebrate good moments dancing in the water. I am genuinely moved and grateful for all your love & support. 🥰"

The video kicks off with the House of Gucci star making a dramatic entrance into an indoor swimming pool, as if she were auditioning for a synchronised swimming team. Clad in a triangle bikini top that defies the laws of physics, she gracefully splashes around before launching into some water aerobics that would make Aquaman proud.

In the following scenes, our beloved Oscar nominee takes on the monumental task of doing crunches on the pool steps, proving that even in water, abs are no match for her determination. And just when you thought it couldn't get any better, she transitions into side leg kicks that would make a Rockette envious. As the workout reaches its crescendo, Salma wraps it up with her signature cardio routine: dancing.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Salma Hayek Pinault (@salmahayek)

Naturally, Salma's fans were left in awe of her seemingly eternal youthfulness. "She's ageing like a fine wine!" exclaimed one follower, while another chimed in, "I met her in the '90s, and she's barely aged since then!" We can't help but marvel at Salma's ability to trap the thirst at 56. It's wild, folks!

In a surprising turn of events, even Drake himself couldn't resist getting in on the action. He wrote, "Let's get her to 50 million followers ASAP." Looks like Salma's sultry workout video has everyone thirsty for more!

But wait, there's more! Just days before the poolside spectacle, Salma had already sent her fans into a frenzy with a photo celebrating National Bikini Day. Wearing the same vibrant patchwork two-piece, she gazed into the camera with a smoulder that could melt the polar ice caps (which, given her workout skills, might actually be possible).

Salma, never one to shy away from baring it all online, accessorised her lively swimsuit with a pair of gold, three-tiered earrings and her trusty wedding ring. After all, why not bring some bling to the pool party?

And let's not forget her recent sauna adventures! Embracing the world of wellness, Salma shared a series of steamy sauna photos, proving that she knows how to sweat out the stress. With just two small, white towels valiantly attempting to cover her private parts, she took "World Wellbeing Week" to a whole new level. Who needs oversized towels anyway?

While constantly praised for her timeless beauty, Salma is refreshingly open about her changing appearance. She fearlessly shares photos of her sprouting greys and the delightful marks of ageing, reminding us all that even Hollywood goddesses can't escape the passage of time.

So there you have it, folks! Salma Hayek, the ageless enchantress, continues to captivate us with her cheeky and awe-inspiring Instagram escapades. From bikini workouts to steamy saunas, she's a force to be reckoned with. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to find a pool and attempt Salma's workout routine. Wish me luck – I'll need it!

Images: Instagram

Dubbed as “Australia’s most beautiful home” this remarkable Byron Bay property certainly fits Margot Robbie’s criteria for a dream house.

The beloved Aussie actress and husband Tom Ackerley have flown back to Australia and have taken the time, in between visiting friends and launching a new spirits label, to go house hunting in beautiful Byron Bay.

Robbie and Ackerley were spotted walking through the stunning “Cedar Hill” home in Newrybar, which sits around 10km south of Byron Bay.

Property records state the 8-bed, 8-bath home that offers over 2 hectares of land has been on the market for two months.

In its marketing campaign, it is described as a “Malibu Aspen Love Child”.

“The perfect property is a place where calmness calls, fusing relaxed luxury with picturesque tranquillity,” the listing reads.

“Such a rare destination does indeed exist with “Cedar Hill”.

“Revered as one of Australia’s most beautiful homes and boasting lush hinterland and ocean views, it is a spectacular showcase of international design and unique architecture.

“Cocooned within five acres of absolute peace and paradise, two sprawling premium hardwood residences rise up from this elevated, northeast-facing estate.

“Linked by a glass-lined walkway that nicely separates social and sleeping quarters, elegance blends skilfully with cutting-edge design, including retractable glass walls, soaring ceilings with exposed timber beams and polished concrete floors. Why you shouldn’t wait to explore incredible Iceland

Iceland, also called the Land of Fire and Ice, is the most peaceful country in the world. It ranks high in social stability, equality, democracy and more. One of the reasons it is so high on the Peace Index is because it is without a standing army - meaning no army, navy or air force.

It's got a lot more to offer though as it's home to some of the most remarkable natural landmarks in the world.

1. Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon

A constantly changing natural wonder located on the edge of Vatnajökull National Park in southeast Iceland, Jökulsárlón Glacier Lagoon is famous for its icebergs that break away from the glacier and float in the lagoon before they drift out to sea.

Sculptural mountains make for a majestic backdrop with seals swimming between the icebergs and reindeer roaming around the shores.

2. Diamond Beach

Just minutes from the lagoon you’ll find Diamond Beach. It features striking black sand and glistens with iceberg fragments drifting ashore.

The beach won’t look the same every time you go as new icebergs form once the old ones disappear. A truly unique destination.

3. Skógafoss Waterfall

With a width of 25 metres and a drop of 60 metres, Skógafoss Waterfall is one of the largest and most elegant waterfalls in Iceland. Its size leads to a lot of spray, often showcasing single or double rainbows on sunny days.

You can get up close to it by following the river below or taking the stairs next to it to get a stunning view from above.

4. Seljalandsfoss Waterfall

Seljalandsfoss Waterfall is located by a main road, making it one of the most accessible waterfalls and very hard to miss.

It drops 60 metres into a tranquil pool below and is one of the few places in the world where you can walk behind a waterfall.

5. Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach

Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach is one of the most well-known black sand beaches in the world. It features fine textured soft black sand and a cave with huge geometric columns.

You can see the powerful waves of the Atlantic Ocean meet the shore and the towering basalt sea stacks jutting out from the ocean at 66 metres into the air.

“Stay awake!”: Incredible bodycam footage of Jeremy Renner rescue

WARNING: DISTRESSING CONTENT - VIEWER DISCRETION ADVISED.

It’s been three months since Jeremy Renner almost lost his life to a horrific snow plough accident, and new footage has surfaced from the incident.

In a gut-wrenching video, medics can be seen desperately trying to save the Hawkeye actor after his 6,500kg Snowcat vehicle ran him over on New Years Day, 2023.

Renner was left in critical condition with extensive injuries at the scene of the incident in Lake Tahoe, Nevada.

The Marvel star was using his snow plough to clear a path out of his home following a massive snowstorm, according to the New York Post.

The mighty storm saw over 35,000 people without power in the area.

New police bodycam footage from the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office showed the scene just moments after Renner’s devastating accident.

The footage shows a team of five medics in a desperate attempt to save the star, who suffered blunt chest trauma and orthopaedic injuries.

“It was horrible. I thought he was going to die, man. I’m holding him and his colour is just going,” a person at the scene said.

Renner’s accident occurred just moments after he stepped in to save his nephew, Alexander Fries, from the path of the snow plough.

Police bodycam footage captured Fries explaining what had happened to his uncle.

“He went up and turned around, got out to tell me something and then that’s when it started coming at me, like, full force,” he told officers.

“That’s when he tried to jump back in there. Right where his blood is at, that’s right where it all happened.”

“He tried to jump on it, into the thing, and it took him under,” he added.

An emergency call from the incident was also released, which heard the actor’s neighbour telling emergency services that Renner had been “crushed” by the snow plough.

On the call, the frazzled neighbour can be heard asking for the emergency crew’s time of arrival as he explained Renner’s “shallow” breaths were “getting shorter” and that the actor had started to “drift off” to sleep.

Renner lost a significant amount of blood and underwent surgeries with round-the-clock care from medics after he was flown to Renown Regional Medical Centre in Reno, Nevada.

His frantic neighbour, who happened to be a doctor, applied a tourniquet to Renner’s leg to stop the bleeding.

Renner was released from hospital in January and has been recovering at home since then.

The actor opened up about the chilling events for the first time in an exclusive interview with US ABC News anchor Diana Sawyer.

He shared that he refuses to be “haunted” by the harrowing accident.

“I shifted the narrative of it being victimised or making a mistake or anything else,” he told Sawyer.

“I refuse to be f**king haunted by that memory that way.”

The actor also revealed the harrowing detail of him writing his “last words” to his family as he didn’t think he’d make it through.

“I’m writing down notes on my phone. Last words to my family,” he said, holding back tears.

Image credit: Instagram/Washoe County Sheriff’s Office

”Life begins again”: Neighbours actress shares incredible news

Former Neighbours actress Katie Keltie, who played Michelle Scully on the beloved soap has announced she is now “cancer free”, just months after it was revealed she had stage four breast cancer.

The star’s diagnosis was shared in November 2022 when her friend Ebonie Gilbert created a GoFundMe page to help raise $25,000 to cover medical costs for the actress' “extremely aggressive” cancer.

The page raised more than $37,000 for Keltie and has since been taken down.

The last post on the fundraiser was an update posted by the actress, claiming she was “cancer free”.

“I recently received results of my latest scan and was told that there had been a complete metabolic response to diseased areas,” she told the Daily Mail.

“In other words, it seems I am cancer free.

“The last six months have been the most challenging time I have ever experienced to say the least.

“The diagnosis completely turned my world upside down and it’s something I hope to never go through again.

“I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.

“Your support played a huge part in my navigating this horrible time.

“It will forever be something I remember and am truly grateful for.”

In her message, the actress thanked the “amazing team” at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne as well as her “beautiful family and friends”.

“The nature of my cancer, having travelled through the blood stream, means that I will receive monthly infusions indefinitely, with no side effects,” she said.

“Surgery is also off the table at this point.

“Life begins again.”

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the actress’ uncle Michael Keltie said, “When she went back with her mother and father, the doctor said, ‘It’s gone – it’s completely gone’.”

“They didn’t know what they were hearing when they were told.

“They said, ‘What do you mean, it’s gone?’ He said, ‘It’s completely gone’.

“So that is a really positive story what happened with Kate.”

Fall in love with incredible India

India can be daunting for travellers. With visas to organise, fear of “Delhi belly” and constant crowds.

But it doesn’t have to be difficult.

Product Coordinator Louise Shuhin spent one week in India in June on a MyDiscoveries tour.

The first step was to organise a visa and Ms Shuhin says it was surprisingly easy. Tourists are allowed a visa for India for up to 60 days.

“We applied for our Indian visa online,” Ms Shuhin says.

“You will need to include a small photo and upload an image of your passport, but it is a simple and easy process that can be done at home with access to a printer.”

The tour offered premium hotels and transport, so all Ms Shuhin had to worry about was soaking up the Indian atmosphere.

The Taj Mahal in Agra was the highlight for everyone on the tour, she says. The famous white building was designed by Emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his wife. He planned to build a black version of the Taj Mahal across the river, a mirror image of the stunning white version we all know, but he died before it could be completed.

“The Taj Mahal should be a place that every person visit before they die,” Ms Shuhin says.

“As you approach the Taj Mahal you get the feeling that the building is coming towards you and it becomes bigger and bigger.

“Once up close you gain an appreciation for Emperor Shah Jahan’s attention to detail – honouring his 22 years of marriage by spending 22 years to complete the mausoleum. You are able to walk up the 22 steps and enter the mausoleum to view Mumtaz Mahal’s grave and pay respects.”

The mausoleum is decorated in marble and stunning frescos. Even the gates are a work of love and art. Visitors can also tour the “guest house” and view the foundations of the Back Taj which was intended as Shah Jahan’s Mausoleum.

Ms Shuhin’s tour also took her to the Amber Fort in Jaipur. The magnificent fort comprises an extensive palace complex, built from pale yellow and pink sandstone, and white marble.

“Once inside we were able to explore the palace, which has key features such as Ganesh Gate, and Mirror Palace displaying the most stunning, fresco and mirror mosaics and coloured glasses,” Ms Shuhin says.

Tourists are given the option of taking an elephant ride or a Jeep tour. Ms Shuhin says the Amber Fort was swarming with street vendors selling everything from pens to bags and umbrellas. The tour guide made her feel comfortable to navigate through the crowd and make her way to the fort.

Shopping tours offered the chance to learn how precious gems such as ruby and emerald are polished and to learn how marble is crafted, carved and created.

India, Ms Shuhin says, is somewhere everyone should see at least once in their lifetime. It’s much less daunting on an organised tour.

Written by Alison Godfrey. I wasn’t going to be on camera, the studios were shut down … I felt really scrutinised during my first pregnancy and I think that it was such a joy to spend the last seven months of my pregnancy under the cover of just nobody was out, nobody was taking photos.” She told ET.

Kaling also shared how she thought exercise needed to be gruelling, but has since changed her view.

“When I was younger, I had a very specific idea of how working out needed to be. It was like 45 minutes on the treadmill, seven-minute mile, it needed to be punishing, I needed to hate it,” she told People in May.

“I’ve really been mixing it up and knowing that if a workout doesn’t necessarily make me soak my clothes with sweat, that it still was a good workout … It does not have to be punishing.”
