"Little Victory": First glimpse of Monaco’s newest royal baby

"An incredible gift": Grace Kelly remembered 40 years on

<p dir="ltr">The royal family of Monaco have shared a series of stunning tribute photos to the late Princess Grace, 40 years after her death.</p> <p dir="ltr">Princess Grace, formerly known as Grace Kelly an American actress, died in a car accident at the age of 52 after suffering a stroke.</p> <p dir="ltr">She appeared in several movies including <em>Mogambo</em> (1953), <em>To Catch A Thief</em> (1955) and three <em>Alfred Hitchcock</em> thrillers before retiring from acting at the age of 26.</p> <p dir="ltr">She went on to marry Prince Rainier III in April 1956, earning her the title of Princess of Monaco, and the couple had three children, Princess Caroline, 65, Prince Albert, 64, and Princess Stéphanie, 57.</p> <p dir="ltr">The official Instagram page of the Monaco Royal Family shared a series of photos of Princess Grace in her memory.</p> <p dir="ltr">“In Memoriam Princesse Grace de Monaco 1929 - 1982,” the caption simply read.</p> <p dir="ltr">Her son Prince Albert said it doesn’t feel like 40 years had passed and people still remember his mother.</p> <p dir="ltr">"It doesn't seem like 40 years," he told <a href="https://people.com/royals/prince-albert-remembers-his-mother-princess-grace-on-the-40th-anniversary-of-her-death/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">PEOPLE</a>.</p> <p dir="ltr">“Many times during a day, a week, not only do I find myself thinking of her, but numbers of people still recall her to me.</p> <p dir="ltr">“They remember her and that's a great tribute to her and who she was — to what an exceptional human being she was.</p> <p dir="ltr">"Forty years on, she still captures people's imagination. Princess Charlene opens up about her health for the first time

Princess Charlene finally comes home

<p dir="ltr">Princess Charlene of Monaco took to Instagram to wish her children a happy birthday as she is unable to celebrate with them in person.</p> <p dir="ltr">Prince Jacques and Princess Gabriella turned seven years old on Friday, but Princess Charlene is receiving treatment for an undisclosed condition outside Monaco and could not be there to celebrate with them. Hours after Princess Charlene’s post, the Palais Princier de Monaco shared the same photos, writing, “Joyeux anniversaire au Prince Héréditaire Jacques et à la Princesse Gabriella.”</p> <p dir="ltr">Charlene returned to Monaco on November 8 after spending six months in South Africa where she was treated for an infection, but less than a week after her return, was admitted to a private facility in an undisclosed location. At the time, Prince Albert described her condition as “profound general fatigue...exhaustion, both emotional and physical". He also clarified, "Because I know there are rumors out there, let me say: This is not COVID.</p> <p dir="ltr">"And it's not cancer-related. It's not a personal relationship issue. And if you want to discuss another speculation, it isn't related to plastic surgery or facial work at all."</p> <p dir="ltr">He is hoping to visit Charlene with the twins, but has not said when that would happen. "I can't give you any kind of time frame on that. Not in the next few days, certainly but whenever we get the medical go-ahead. You know these kind of treatments, these rest periods, are usually several weeks. I cannot give you any set period at this time, we will see."</p> <p dir="ltr">He also pleaded for everyone to respect his family’s privacy, saying, "She needs privacy; as a family we need privacy. "We miss you": Princess Charlene's children share heartbreaking message

<p>Princess Charlene's children have made an emotional public statement, as their mother has been checked into a treatment facility. </p> <p>According to Monaco's Prince Albert II, his wife Charlene has checked into a facility "outside Monaco" to receive help for "exhaustion, both emotional and physical".</p> <p>The National Day of Monaco was celebrated on Friday as Princess Charlene's six-year-old twins, Princess Gabriella and Prince Jacques, showed support for their mother with handmade signs that expressed how much they love and miss her. </p> <p>The two children held the signs at the balcony of Monaco Palace, with their father standing behind them in support. </p> <p>Prince Albert told <a rel="noopener" href="https://people.com/royals/prince-albert-tells-people-princess-charlene-in-treatment-facility/" target="_blank">People</a> that Princess Charlene would be needing several weeks of clinical care, saying "She realised she needed help."</p> <p>He said her current state is the result of "<span>of several factors which are private matters."</span></p> <p><span>"She was overwhelmed and couldn't face official duties, life in general or even family life."</span></p> <p>He also made it clear that Princess Charlene's admittance to the facility has nothing to do with any marital problems between the pair, who married in 2011. </p> <p><span>“I’m probably going to say this several times, but this has nothing to do with our relationship,” he said. </span></p> <p><span>“I want to make that very clear. These are not problems within our relationship; not with the relationship between a husband and wife. A prominent royal has tested positive for coronavirus

<p>The royal palace has confirmed on Friday morning that Prince Albert of Monaco has tested positive for coronavirus, after undergoing a test earlier this week for the worrying pathogen.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7831993/prince-albert-of-monaco.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/b9b15ac7f8e84dd08b1434c5492b4fe2" /></p> <p>He is the first royal member and known head of state to have been diagnosed with COVID-19, however he is not the first member of the Mediterranean paradise to have been hit with the virus as it was announced on Thursday there had been nine new cases.</p> <p>The first case of coronavirus in Monaco was recorded on February 28.</p> <p>Prince Albert had only just sat opposite of Prince Charles, the heir to the British throne, at a WaterAid charity event in London just a mere nine days before he was ruled positive.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7830238/prince-charles-1.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/1f96c31452db445a94ba31c58a9c237b" /></p> <p>The palace said Albert's health “does not inspire any concern”, adding he was continuing to work from his private apartments. </p> <p>However the palace confirmed the royal is being closely monitored by his person doctor and by more specialists at the Princess Grace Hospital Centre.</p> <p>Albert has also begged the 39,000 inhabitants of Monaco in a to listen to quarantine rules to stop the spread of the virus.  </p> <p>Schools and nurseries in Monaco have been told to close along with non-essential businesses including restaurants, casinos, cafes, concert halls, cinemas and nightclubs.</p> <p><img style="width: 500px; height: 281.25px;" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7832649/monaco-royals-5.jpg" alt="" data-udi="umb://media/f02c96bdd3614ff5b02908a746b6aede" /></p> <p>Banks, supermarkets and pharmacies continue to stay open.</p> <p>Information remains unclear in regard to the condition of the royal’s wife, Princess Charlene and whether she has been tested or not.</p> <p>Other high-profile patients include Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, the wife of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau, and Begona Gomez, the wife of Spanish leader Pedro Sanchez.  </p> <p>Highly televised events including the Monaco Grand Prix has been called off with several other events on the Formula One calendar because of virus fears. </p>

<p>Royal balcony moments are not strictly reserved for the residents of Buckingham Palace. </p> <p>The Monegasque family have their own display every year to commemorate a special royal day. </p> <p>The large Grimaldi family gather together annually for a mass at the Monaco cathedral and watch the parades, pose for pictures on the Palace balcony and celebrate National Day of Monaco. </p> <p>Princess Charlene, 41, looked chic and regal in all white ensemble as she joined her husband, 61-year-old Prince Albert to mark the annual day he ascended the throne. </p> <p>Joined by their cute twins Jacques and Gabriella, 4, the little family waved from the balcony. </p> <p>Also present was Princess Caroline of Hanover, 62, her daughter Princess Alexandra of Hanover, 20, her son Pierre Casiraghi, 32, his wife Beatrice Borromeo, and their children Stefano, 2, and Francesco, 1.</p> <p>Prince Albert’s nephews brought their own adorable children to watch the show from the balcony. </p> <p>“We’re running out of space for everyone. Grace Kelly’s granddaughter marries in second stunning wedding dress

<p>Princess Grace of Monaco’s granddaughter Charlotte Casiraghi has celebrated her new marriage again with a religious ceremony in Southern France.</p> <p>It was the second wedding for Charlotte and her husband, film producer Dimitri Rassam.</p> <p>They had a civil service on June 1 at Monaco’s Prince’s Palace.</p> <p>The first service was where Charlotte paid homage to her famous grandmother, as the necklace she chose to wear in the above photo is her grandmother's Cartier piece, and is one of the most celebrated of the family’s Cartier treasures.</p> <p>The three-strand necklace, according to <a rel="noopener" href="https://www.townandcountrymag.com/style/jewelry-and-watches/a27698288/charlotte-casiraghi-princess-grace-wedding-jewelry/" target="_blank"><em>Town and Country Magazine</em></a>, was created from approximately 64 carats of round and emerald cut diamonds which were set in platinum.</p> <p>It was a gift from Prince Rainier to his bride, Princess Grace, on their wedding day in 1956.</p> <p>Granddaughter Charlotte's second wedding service was held in the village of Saint-Remy-De-Provence on the weekend.</p> <p>"It is this particular love of Provence she wants to share with her family and friends," a friend told<span> </span><a rel="noopener" href="https://people.com/royals/charlotte-casiraghi-monaco-weds-second-religious-marriage-ceremony/" target="_blank"><em>People</em></a>.</p> <p>Charlotte, 32, wore a gown by Italian designer Giambattista Valli, who shared a photo of the couple on Instagram.</p> <p>"Congratulations Charlotte Casiraghi and Dimitri Rassam on their wedding in Saint-Remy-de-Provence.</p> <p>"The bride wore a custom Giambattista Valli Haute Couture gown. <p>When the name Grace Kelly comes to mind, there are many things one can think of, but one thing everyone remembers is her iconic wedding dress – a dress that is inspiring high-profile personalities still to this day.</p> <p>Her long-sleeved lace gown was designed by none other than costume designer Helen Rose, and what she created was nothing short of a masterpiece. Grace finished off her outfit with a Juliet cap and kid gloves, looking like a true princess.</p> <p>And that wasn’t the end, as the actress proceeded to have two more outfit changes before her big day. Princess Caroline reveals what Grace Kelly was like as a mother

<p>Princess Caroline, the eldest daughter of Prince Rainier of Monaco and Grace Kelly, has gotten candid for a new book and revealed what is was really like growing up with the screen star from Hollywood’s golden age as her mother.</p> <p>The eldest child of the Monaco royal family, Caroline and her younger brother, Prince Albert, have opened up about their childhood in new book <em>Albert II of Monaco, The Man and The Prince</em>, by Isabelle Rivere and Peter Mikelbank – and written in honour of Prince Albert turning 60 in March this year.</p> <p>The siblings have shared intimate details on the early years of their lives with their parents, with Caroline revealing one particular meaningful figure and influence during their childhood – their nanny, Maureen Wood.</p> <p>“For my brother and I, Maureen was a key figure in our life,” Caroline told <em>People</em>.</p> <p>“When we were little, we were probably closer to our nanny than to our parents.”</p> <p><img width="500" height="500" src="https://oversixtydev.blob.core.windows.net/media/7817674/princess-caroline-prince-albert_500x500.jpg" alt="Princess Caroline Prince Albert"/></p> <p>The royals were so attached to their nanny when they were young, that Princess Caroline and Prince Albert would beg Wood not to go whenever she left for her annual holiday during the summer.</p> <p>“We were sad for days,” Caroline admitted.</p> <p>“Most often than not, our mother would end up calling her to ask her to come home earlier than planned.”</p> <p>The revealing new book also shares a sweet anecdote about Princess Caroline, Prince Albert and Wood, who was also interviewed for the tome.</p> <p>One night when Prince Rainier and Kelly were out of town attending a royal wedding, their nanny let the children throw their own “gala dinner” at the Palace.</p> <p>“The Chef cooked a special menu, Caroline wore one of her mother’s gowns, Albert wore a uniform, and I wore a gown too,” Wood recalled.</p> <p>“Then we put on music and we danced.”</p> <p>Despite reports the prince and princesses had a rocky childhood, all three of Kelly’s children have respectfully carried on their mother's legacy of humanitarian work through the Princess Grace Foundation.</p>

When asked if it was a princess Barbie doll, Albert winked, saying, “No just a Barbie.
