My Kitchen Rules stars Carly Saunders and Tresna Middleton have been hit with a second devastating blow for their family, just five months after the death of their daughter.

The couple conceived their first baby, Poppy Grace, through a gruelling IVF journey, before Poppy tragically passed away from a rare form of cancer just four months before her second birthday.

Now, the women are continuing to fight for their perfect family and are undergoing another round of IVF.

However, Carly and Tresna have suffered a miscarriage just weeks into the pregnancy.

The couple shared their heartbreaking news on Instagram to update their fans who were following along with their IVF journey, saying they are "devastated".

“Sadly, we know that miscarriage occurs in one in four pregnancies. It certainly doesn’t make living through one any easier,” Tresna wrote on the pair’s joint Instagram account on Wednesday.

View this post on Instagram

A post shared by Carly Tresne (@carlyandtresne)

“We had started to heal, we did a variety of health scans, we were fit and well and we felt as if Poppy was guiding us towards growing our family,” the post continued.

“So we began the (IVF) process in May and on POPPY’S 2nd BIRTHDAY we found out Carly was pregnant."

“We were over the moon and felt it was a good sign that we found out on such a special day.”

Tresna said that it had “taken a minute to gain the strength to share where we are at”.

“At the 11 week scan we failed to find the baby’s heartbeat. MKR stars open up about devastating IVF loss

My Kitchen Rules stars Carly Saunders and Tresne Middleton have opened up about the tragic end to their IVF journey, after their miracle baby died from cancer at the age of one.

The women shared how they are coping with their profound loss, while sharing some major warning signs that doctors missed to indicate their daughter, Poppy, was sick.

Speaking candidly to 7Life, Tresne shared how they first knew something wasn't right with young Poppy.

"We noticed her belly was starting to get enlarged. So, it was a little bit distended. And when she was feeding, she would have quite large vomits."

She also said Poppy would bruise easily, with bruises and marks on her skin lasting for several weeks at a time.

Poppy's pale complexion was also a telling sign that she was seriously ill.

When they took Poppy to the doctors, their worst fears were confirmed when their miracle baby was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia, a severe form of blood cancer.

"If they've got bruises or excessive bleeding - they are generally signs that the leukaemia is affecting their marrow which therefore affects their blood," Carly said.

After Poppy received her diagnosis, Carly and Tresne made the decision to make Poppy's life as loving and as normal as possible.

"It let her feel like this is a normal lifestyle. We didn't treat her any differently than we would any other child," she said.

"We did as much as we could to try and normalise what was happening to her. I don't think she knew any different."

The women have been documenting their grief journey online since Poppy passed away in February this year at the age of one.

The couple recently returned home to Australia after spending time in Thailand, with the hopes the escape abroad would help them heal.

Posting a video montage of their time in Thailand to Instagram, the couple wrote, "Home again… it is time to face home again."

"It's beyond us that the whole time we were in hospital with Pops we just wanted to be home, and now we'll do almost anything to avoid it."

Colin Fassnidge addresses his feud with Manu Feildel

Colin Fassnidge has spilled on his past feuds with fellow celebrity chefs Manu Feildel and Miguel Maestre.

On I'm A Celebrity … Get Me Out Of Here!, Fassnidge said he used to "fight everybody" as he tried to make a name for himself as a chef.

“Me and Miguel didn’t get on, me and Manu didn’t get on,” he told camp mate Grant Denyer.

“I don’t know. We just never stopped fighting.”

Fassnidge revealed his feud with Feildel came to a head when he joined My Kitchen Rules in 2015.

“When I did MKR, they knew me and Manu didn’t get on because we’d had Twitter wars and all this sh*t,” he explained. “First day on set I was like, ‘oh f**k,’ it’s his baby, he’s the Daddy of the show.’ I walk on and they’re like, ‘This is the new guy,’ and he’s like, ‘f**k this.’”

Fassnidge claimed Feildel immediately pulled an "alpha" move and said to him: “Well buddy, welcome to my home. If there’s anything you need, I’ll tell you how to do it.”

But as the end of the season approached, Fassnidge decided to end the feud once and for all.

“I just went into his dressing room and said, ‘Mate, I apologise for whatever.’ And he’s like, that’s it, buried it,” Fassnidge said. “Same with Miguel.”

The three chefs have since become good friends.

“All the wives hang out, the kids hang out … we’re like, ‘Why did we waste so long getting to know each other?’” Fassnidge said.

Fairy tale romance: The heartwarming story of how MKR's Manu Feildel met his wife

Maybe it’s his French accent or his talent in the kitchen, but Manu Feildel is no stranger to women fawning over him.

But despite the popularity, when the My Kitchen Rules judge met his now-wife Clarissa Weerasena at Sydney’s Ivy night club in 2011, she reacted differently.

Speaking to The Australian Women’s Weekly in 2016, Clarissa revealed that she had no idea who the iconic chef was.

“He comes up to me and says, ‘Your friend says that you can cook better than me,’ and I said, ‘I probably can’,” she recounted. “I thought, who the hell are you?”

Speaking about the hilarious first encounter, Manu told TV WEEK his version of events. “We met in a lift going to a nightclub in Sydney. She didn’t know who I was.”

He then said: “We didn’t see each other for three months after that, then we caught up for a drink. I was nervous. Because three months had passed. We didn’t see each other for another three months, then had some lunch. The rest is history.”

But what sealed the deal was Clarissa’s knowledge in the kitchen. The chef is known to love sauce accompanying meals and after tasting one of her creations, he knew he had found the one.

“Clarissa ticked all the boxes – and that was the biggest box. I was like, thank God! She loves eating and she loves cooking – she’s perfect!” He told the Australian Women’s Weekly.

Madly in love, the Australia’s Got Talent judge asked Clarissa to marry him in 2013, and the couple then welcomed their daughter Charlee in 2015.

Before Clarissa, Manu was in a 12-year relationship with Ronnie Moreshead whom he shares a son Jonti with.

After being engaged for four long years, the couple tied the knot in 2018 in what Manu describes as a “beautiful intimate ceremony”.

He took to Instagram to share the happy news.

View this post on Instagram

I’ve often said don’t believe what you read in the press but now you hear it from the horses mouth, yes it’s true I am married! “She winds me up!” The unlikely feud between Delta Goodrem and this My Kitchen Rules judge

When the words “celeb feud” come to mind, the names Colin Fassnidge and Delta Goodrem usually don’t.

But in the most unlikely of scenarios, the My Kitchen Rules star has taken a dig at the singer.

The Irish chef says while he’s a fan of The Voice, Delta Goodrem “winds” him up.

Sitting down with Jana Hocking on her podcast Sex Love Magic, Colin recounted an incident that occurred at the Logies in 2018, when he had to pose with Delta.

“They put me sitting in front of her at the Logies the last time and she’s behind me, and the photo of me with Delta … I was making a face,” he revealed.

“My Missus said to me, ‘You realise you’re representing your company [sic]?’

“I have no interest in Delta Goodrem!” he said, while adding: “I like The Voice, I think it’s a good show.”

Delta has always attracted unwanted attention, especially after criticism surfaced over how she chooses to support her team on the show.

The Born to Try singer told The Daily Telegraph in 2017 about the backlash, saying it’s “all just water off a duck’s back, because the reality of what I get to live with is very different.”

“I have only the intention of making people’s day better, and if someone has an intention that’s the opposite of that, then that’s their problem,” he said.

Huge financial blowout: MKR's Ibby and Romel thousands of dollars out of pocket after losing

My Kitchen Rules runners-up Ibby and Romel have revealed that they were thousands of dollars out of pocket after losing to Luke and Matt in the cooking competition’s grand finale.

The Sydney team told news.com.au that they spent their own money to maximise their chances at winning the reality show and the $250,000 prize.

“Give or take we put in $30,000 combined,” said Romel.

Romel said most of the costs went to practising their dishes at their apartment with the help of a kitchen hand.

“The majority of the other contestants had either left their jobs or they came in unemployed, whereas Ibby and I both run businesses,” said Romel.

“At first we didn’t have a kitchen hand at all, so what we found was chopping up, cleaning up, running to Coles a gazillion times a day, it was just consuming all our time.

“We had a meeting and asked ourselves, how can we work smarter rather than working overtime and not having any time for our businesses? So, we thought why don’t we just hire a kitchen hand to clean after us … It was basically to save time.

Romel said the massive expenses were due to their decision to fully emulate the challenges from the show.

“When we were practising it wasn’t as if we were just making one dish,” he said. “This is where the other money went. The majority of our ingredients, they’re f***ing expensive. We weren’t just making one dish. If we were serving 23 people, we were making 23 dishes.”

Romel also denied the accusations from other contestants that the hired staff helped them create any menu or recipe.

“At no point had we broken any rules … And as far as creating dishes for us, that absolutely never happened. They didn’t create menus, they just cleaned and chopped up.”

Apart from the kitchen hand, the pair also spent a significant amount on a stylist, a graphic designer and flowers for their instant restaurant round.

Ibby and Romel lost the grand final episode by four points to the winning pair Matt and Luke, who received 92 points out of a possible 100 from the 10 judges.

The loss shocked many viewers, including fellow contestant Josh Bonwick.

“I can say with a clean conscience after eating both team’s dishes tonight, I believe Ibby and Romel should have won as their food to me was superior in flavour,” he wrote on a Twitter post.

I can say with a clean conscience after eating both team's dishes tonight, I believe Ibby and Romel should have won as their food to me was superior in flavour#MKR
— Joshua Bonwick (@JoshuaBonwick) April 28, 2019

I'm happy for Matt and Luke, but Ibby and Romel certainly deserved to win. “So disappointed right now”: Manu Feildel blasts MKR villains after epic cooking fail

My Kitchen Rules judge Manu Feildel lashed out on this season’s controversial contestants after they failed to cook up a dish worth serving on Sunday night’s episode.

Josh and Austin, titled as “NSW Home Schooled Brothers” have proved to be this season’s villains after their less-than-favourable comments towards other contestants.

After mocking their rivals over their appearance and cooking, people expected the two to whip up a dish worth a Michelin star.

The menu included clam chowder with homemade bread for entrée, chicken lollipops with garlic mash for main and lemon curd domes for dessert.

“I think we’re definitely a massive threat to a lot of people,” said Austin at the beginning of the episode. That claim was proven wrong.

The entrée was not what anyone expected, with Pete Evans saying, “I’m really struggling to find anything that I like about this dish”.

The main was supposed to be the redeeming dish for the brothers, but after making their guests wait for four hours due to trouble in the kitchen, Manu decided to unleash on the pair.

“I’m so disappointed right now,” Manu said. “You’ve been sitting around this table treating people … telling them their food’s terrible and you’re not even capable of coming back with the goods.”

Manu. This is ridiculous,” said Manu. “I’ve never expressed myself like this in 10 years!”

After the feud, Pete sent the boys back into the kitchen, warning them to deliver a perfect dessert.

“And not in two hours otherwise I’m going home,” threatened Manu.

Thankfully, Josh and Austin’s lemon curd dome was the redeeming factor of the night.

“Best dish of the night, but not perfect either,” said Manu.

Unsurprisingly, the NSW brothers were pushed right down to the bottom of the leader board after receiving a mere 31 points out of a possible 130.

They will now verse Karito and Ian to save their spot in the show.

Have you been watching MKR? Who is your favourite team? Tell us in the comments below.

Why Iain ‘Huey’ Hewitson doesn’t like MKR and MasterChef

Iain ‘Huey’ Hewitson has criticised reality cooking shows such as MasterChef and My Kitchen Rules for making “food look so complicated” as a “terrible disservice to the public”.

Speaking to A Current Affair on Thursday about his new YouTube series, the 69-year-old TV stalwart veered off topic to call out the high-rating cooking shows for its “pretentious rubbish”.

“They started off simple, and the next minute you turn around and they're doing deconstructed rubbish with smears on the plate!” he said.

After slamming food fads such as deconstructed dishes and microscopic smears of expensive food on expensive plates, he got stuck into the judges.

“This new thing when they start talk to contestants and they go 'now please tell me about your philosophy for this dish?’” he started off, before continuing: “Who gives a [stops himself from swearing]... I won't continue with that.”

A Current Affair Reporter Tineka Everaardt observed: “Some people might say, 'Well, Huey's just got sour grapes, that he's jealous of their successes.' What would you say to them’’”

The chef said he had “no axe to grind” with TV chefs such as Pete Evans, Manu Fieldel and George Calombaris, but objected to the way the shows are sold to viewers.

“I object to what it is doing to people at home, [who are now] making their fancy pants food.

“They'd do a hell of a lot better roasting a chicken in the oven with some nice root vegetables, instead of trying to make pickled ducks bums with truffle oil!”

He added later: “I'm not going to pick on shows like MasterChef, I really am not. I don't even hate the presenters... much.

“But I think the problem with the shows is they do a terrible disservice to the public because they make all the food look so complicated.”

Huey's new Youtube series is called Huey's Fabulous Fast Food for One or Two.

My Kitchen Rules’ Pete Evans defends competition: “It’s what the viewers want”

It’s been an explosive ninth season of My Kitchen Rules and we’re not even finished with the competition yet.

Fans of the show have been left divided over the scandalous season that saw NSW best friends Sonya and Hadil kicked off the show for the first time ever, describing their behaviour as “disgusting" and "staged".

Viewers have also slammed producers for focusing too much on feuds and fights instead of people’s cooking abilities.

But as the season’s competition draws to the end, MKR judge Pete Evans has spoken out in the show’s defence.

"We're trying to give viewers what they want and we've managed to do that this year," the 45-year-old chef says.

"It's got comedy, it's got drama, it's got emotion. It's got great food and it's got disastrous food. You can't script that."

And although there has been a lot of fan backlash, MKR has been a huge hit in the ratings this year.

Whether you love or hate the contestants, Pete says the show's success comes down to casting.

"It's like writing a good menu for your restaurant," he says. "And that's the key to longevity for any show. You want to have variety – and then you want to keep the audience connected.”

He added: "You want to make a show that people must watch."

When asked about the “controversial” contestants this season, Pete says the teams have added to the success of this season.

"People are intrigued to see how each relationship dynamic plays out or how the teams form friendships throughout the competition," he says.

"It's always a mixed bag – I think that's one of the drawcards."

But the relationships formed on the show aren't always friendly.
