Tributes flow for Seinfeld actress Estelle Harris
<p dir="ltr">Estelle Harris, best known for playing George Costanza’s mother in <em>Seinfeld </em>and voicing <em>Toy Story</em>’s Mrs Potato Head, has died at 93 years old.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Her son Glenn broke the news of her passing, telling <em><a href="https://deadline.com/2022/04/estelle-harris-dead-seinfelds-estelle-costanza-was-93-1234993091/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Deadline</a></em> she died at her home in Palm Desert, California on Saturday night.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“It is with the greatest remorse and sadness to announce that Estelle Harris has passed on this evening at 6.25pm,” Glenn told the outlet.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“Her kindness, passion, sensitivity, humour, empathy and love were practically unrivalled, and she will be terribly missed by all those who knew her.”</p>
<p dir="ltr">It is believed the actress died of natural causes, days before her 94th birthday.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Tributes have flowed for Harris online, with fans, co-stars and even the 36th President of the United States, Lyndon Baines Johnson, sharing dedications to her.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“One of my favourite people has passed - my tv mama, Estelle Harris,” Jason Alexander, who played George Costanza, tweeted.</p>
<p dir="ltr">“The joy of playing with her and relishing her glorious laughter was a treat. I adore you, Estelle. Love to your family. Serenity now and always.”</p>
<p dir="ltr">“RIP Estelle Harris. I love you,” fellow <em>Seinfeld </em>star Julia Louis-Dreyfus tweeted, along with the hashtag ‘serenity now’ in reference to an episode of Seinfeld.</p>

<p dir="ltr">Some fans pointed out that she would be reuniting with the men behind both her Seinfeld and Toy Story husbands.</p>

<p dir="ltr">“Last night, I read that actress and comedienne Estelle Harris passed away. Because I knew her mostly for her role as Mrs Potato Head in the <em>Toy Story</em> films, that gave me an opportunity to honour her and the late Don Rickles, Mr Potato Head’s voice,” one fan wrote, sharing their artwork of the Potato Heads holding hands and walking towards the light.</p>

<p dir="ltr">“The Costanzas are reunited,” another wrote, along with a photo of Harris and Jerry Stiller, who played Mr Costanza and passed away in 2020.</p>
<p dir="ltr">Harris, who is survived by her three children, three grandsons, and a great-grandson, had plenty of credits to her name, including <em>Star Trek: Voyager</em>, <em>The Wild Thornberrys</em> and Disney’s <em>Hercules</em>.</p>
