Three months after the devastating announcement that her breast cancer had returned, Olivia Newton-John finally has some good news to share. Next month, the Grease star and her long-time friend John Farnham will reunite for a very special performance.
On September 8, it has been revealed that the two Aussie icons will perform at the singer and actress’ ONJ Gala at Crown in Melbourne to raise money for her Cancer and Wellness Centre. It will be ONJ’s first show since her diagnosis, which forced the star to put her tour on hold as she sought urgent medical treatment.
“Olivia asked me if I would be there with her,” Farnham told News Corp. “I can’t not be involved, it’s such a great cause. I’ve never known anyone as positive as she is, I do love and admire her so very much.”
The news comes just one day after ONJ opened up online about her cancer battle, telling followers she’s “feeling great”.
“I would like to express my gratitude to all of you who sent such kind and loving messages of support over the past few months,” she said. “Your prayers and well wishes have truly helped me and continue to lift my spirits.”
We wish the Aussie legend all the best in her battle against this dreadful disease.
