Cruising
3 cruise ship rules you should know

1. BYO alcohol is NOT allowed
You can’t bring your own alcohol onto a cruise. If you do – the cruise ship may confiscate them. One or two bottles – particularly for a celebration are OK – but expect the cruise line to charge you corkage if you plan to drink it anywhere but inside your cabin. If you pick up alcohol from duty-free shops on your travels, you can expect these will be stored away and returned to you at the end of the trip.
2. Do not smoke on the balconies.
If you are a smoker, you will need to puff inside designated smoking areas on a cruise. The rule also applies to e-cigarettes. For the comfort of other passengers, you can not smoke on your cabin balcony.
3. Leave your iron at home.
Heat-emitting items such as irons, hot plates, coffee makers are banned. A fire on a cruise ship would be a catastrophe. Don’t risk it.
