Meet Patrick, the world’s oldest and largest wombat

Meet Patrick, the world’s oldest and largest wombat

Meet Patrick, the world’s oldest and largest wombat. He’s just turned 29 years old and weighs a whopping 38 kilograms. Compared to your average wombat who lives up to 15 years and comes in around 28 kilograms, Patrick is certainly one big wombat (which we wouldn’t mind giving a cuddle.)

Patrick lives at Ballarat Wildlife Park in Victoria where he was raised after being orphaned as a joey. While the team has tried releasing Patrick in the wild a few times, it never worked out. Patrick has instead become the official “wommbassador” for the city of Ballarat and the wildlife park.
