Taylor Swift lets seniors in Aussie theatre production dance to Shake It Off

In a move that won the hearts of senior Australian citizens the nation over, pop star Taylor Swift recently tweeted her permission for a cast of over-70s to dance to her song in their theatre production.

The theatre company, Belvoir Street Theatre, recently started a campaign to garner the busy singer’s attention, requesting permission to use her hit single, “Shake It Off” in their latest production, titled Seventeen.

For the show in question, the company desired to use the song in a climactic scene where a group of 70-year-old actors would dance like 17-year-olds to the hit single. Unfortunately, they were denied rights to the song.

This spawned the Twitter campaign #greygreyfortayay, which ultimately led to Swift’s tweeting, “Permission granted, @BelvoirSt. Good luck with your opening night J”

As for the ones who originally denied the actors use of the song? We’re sure the seniors will have already shaken it off.
