Cat who survived house fire offers support to other animals at vet hospital
Russel the cat has spent the last year and half recovering from a fire that burnt his face and body, and destroyed his family’s house, at a veterinary clinic in North Carolina.
Despite undergoing a couple dozen surgeries and treatments for his own injuries, Russel’s taken the time to lend support to other animals as they undergo their treatments.
“He wants to be friends with every animal,” says Megan Maus, a vet tech at Animal Emergency Hospital and Urgent Care. “He's a very inquisitive cat. A very loving little cat.”
While Russel has made many friends at the clinic, including a baby deer, he still isn’t completely well yet. However, the vet clinic is more than happy for Russel to stick around. With his own bed, as well as plenty of toys and treats, Russel is loved by humans and animals alike at the clinic.
