Meet the new baby gorilla born at Taronga Zoo this week

Sydney’s Taronga Zoo is celebrating the birth of a baby gorilla this week.

The sex of the gorilla has yet to be determined as mother Frala, a Western-lowland gorilla, is keeping the newborn close.

“The baby is strong, healthy, has good coloration, gripping on really tight, and we’ve seen a lot of suckling, which is a really good sign,” said Lisa Ridley, the primate keeper.
