The secret Woolworths Christmas promotion you never knew existed
In the season of giving, supermarket giant Woolworths has decided to get into the festive spirit with a nationwide promotion.
Although it has not been widely advertised, Woolworths staff have been gifting customers Christmas hams, trolleys packed with toys and even bouquets.
One Queensland customer wrote on Facebook: “I was at a Woolies yesterday and they stopped an old lady shopping next to me and gave her all the meat in her trolley free.”
“They (staff) dived on her the second she put a Christmas ham in her trolley.”
Another shopper said their mother was also a recipient of a random act of kindness.
“Woolies gave my mum a free bunch of flowers last week,” one customer wrote.
The randomly selected gift giving is a nationwide promotion, which first began on December 1.
Woolworths General Manager of Support Rob Moffat said the purpose of the promotion is to add more festive cheer to customers across the country.
Speaking to Yahoo7, he said: “Our purpose is to bring a little good to everyone everyday.”
“Our store teams have been surprising our customers and the local community at Christmas with random acts of kindness for a number of years.”
The promotion ends on Christmas Eve.
