“You belong here”: Today Show fans call for Ben Fordham to take over as host of Today

Ben Fordham is currently filling in for newsreader Tom Steinfort on the Today Show, and viewers are a fan of the new dynamic.

Viewers are calling for Ben, 42, to take over as the show’s main host.

It’s currently being co-hosted by Georgie Gardner and Deborah Knight, but viewers say that Ben brings a fresh “dynamic” to the show and want him to stay.

As Ben confirmed that he would be on the Today Show for another week, fans were quick to voice their approval.

“You do realise you’re a natural fit for the show,” one viewer commented.

“Stay as co-host. You’re tops.”

Another agreed, saying that they’d start watching the show if he was on as co-host.

“I’d start watching again if you were hosting.”

“You belong there,” said another.

Ben was previously a sports presenter on the show and appeared on the show for three years between 2011 and 2014.

However, he left to focus on his family as well as the radio show 2GB, according to the Daily Mail.

Ben was forced to deny rumours that he was replacing Tracy Grimshaw on A Current Affair.

According to Woman's Day, Ben had been tipped as the 'front-runner' to replace Tracy, if she did leave.

However, he denied the rumours on Fitzy and Wippa.

He said: “I'm happy to confirm live on Nova. Tracy Grimshaw is an Australian Institution. She’s not going anywhere.”
