Samuel Johnson reveals sweet crush: “Cassandra Thorburn is banging”
They’re soon to be rivals on the upcoming season of Dancing With The Stars on Network 10, but despite the fierce competition, Samuel Johnson couldn’t help but gush over his co-star Cassandra Thorburn.
It was announced earlier today that Samuel and Cassandra would be competing in the reality show alongside cricketer Sir Curtly Ambrose, and with Samuel revealing his crush on Cassandra, there may be love in the air.
Sitting down with Nova’s Fitzy and Wippa, Samuel opened up on the radio show about his innocent crush on the mother-of-three, who split from ex-husband Karl Stefanovic in 2016.
The radio hosts asked for Sam’s opinion on Cassandra’s Dancing With The Stars promotional photo, where she is seen wearing a red mini dress.
“She’s banging,” said Sam. “She’s looking good and she’s got the moves, I’ll tell you what.”
The radio hosts then asked if the actor was single, to which he replied: “I’d go there. Who wouldn’t? Have you seen this photo?”
The 40-year-old did reveal that he’s finding the moves challenging, saying, “There is no Latin in these hips”, but believes that Cass, 47, could “go all the way” on the show.
“I did tell her she looks great, and it looks like she’s going to go all the way because she’s got the moves,” said Samuel. “She’s got swagger and she looks banging, she’s got the goods!”
Fitzy then replied, “If you win it for [your charity] Love Your Sister, and you find love with Stefo’s ex at the end of it – oh my god!”
It didn’t take long for Sam to think of a response, saying: “Imagine if I got the trifecta and found Latin in these hips!”
Samuel hopes that by competing on the show, he can raise money for his cancer charity Love Your Sister.
The actor and his late sister, Connie Johnson, started the charity in 2012, with the aim to raise $10 million for cancer research in Australia.
“I promised the country I’d raise $10 million for cancer research and I want to dance my way there,” he said when asked about his decision for joining the star-studded show.
“My sister wanted me to dance my way there. For me, I’m not coming back to telly, I’m coming somewhere to dance my way towards this promise that I’ve been trying to fulfil for seven years. I’d do it whether the cameras were there or not.”
