Women scalded with boiling water on Jetstar flight

Two women have been scalded with boiling water on a Jetstar flight from Melbourne to the Gold Coast, with paramedics rushed to Coolangatta this morning.

While details of the incident remain hazy, one of the passengers is believed to have suffered scalds to the abdomen, while the other was injured on her upper thighs.

First-aid was reportedly administered on the flight from a registered nurse.

After landing, the injured pair were reportedly taken by ambulance to the nearby John Flynn Private Hospital at Tugun, where they will receive further treatment.

The injured passenger is reportedly in a stable condition.

Update: A Jetstar spokesman has said the passengers spilt coffee on themselves after “a little bump” which occurred during minor turbulence on the flight.
