This is how your luggage is treated at the airport

A worker at Edinburgh Airport has been filmed carelessly throwing suitcases onto the conveyor belt.

The footage, posted on Twitter, shows the worker picking up luggage and throwing it from a distance onto the belt rather than walking it over and placing it down like the other workers do.

Lewis Marasco, who filmed the video, wrote, “Great to see one of the baggage handlers at @EdiAirport taking no care with bags — no wonder things get broken.”

“Having had things broken myself I now see why — credit to the 3 other guys taking care.”

The baggage handlers work for Swissport International, a firm hired by the airport to do this job.

On their website, Swissport describe themselves as the “world’s leading provider of ground and air cargo services to the aviation industry”.

Earlier this year, baggage handlers were filmed kicking and throwing passengers’ suitcases after dragging them from a plane at Luton Airport.

The passenger who captured the incident said, “How can you be so sick and disrespectful?”

“Hope these idiots get kicked in the face — and then fired.”
