Matt Damon opens up about his Aussie holiday nightmare

Jellyfish stings can be nasty, so it’s no surprise Hollywood star Matt Damon has described the stinging of his daughter by a jellyfish in Byron Bay as, “the worst” part of his recent holiday Down Under in an interview on Ellen.

The 47-year-old told host Ellen DeGeneres about the incident where he was forced to call paramedics to the beach after his daughter was stung in April.

"It was the worst thing," the actor told Ellen. "Even Chris (Hemsworth) said, 'Mate, that’s the worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life.' It was really bad."

The jellyfish reportedly latched onto his then-6-year-old daughter Stella Zavala.

"This thing literally wrapped around her," he explained. "I could show you pictures that would turn your head. She had these… looked like shoelaces, kind of, red shoelaces around her body."

Thankfully Stella was treated promptly, but it just goes to show you holidays in Australia aren’t for the faint of heart. Have you ever been stung by a jellyfish?
