The rarest passport in the world

The Sovereign Military Order of Malta holds the title of the rarest passport in the world with only three people granted the permission to receive one.

The exclusive passport is granted to the three highest ranking officers in the Catholic order.

The red passport belongs to the grand master, deputy grand master and chancellor of the Order.

Despite the rarity of the passport, it is not valid in the United Kingdom, United States, New Zealand and many other countries and territories with similar rules.

The group’s position is also expressed on license plates, stamps and coins.

In 1113, the Order was officially recognised by Pope Pascha.

It currently operates as a charitable organisation offering medical aid around the world and consists of more than 13,500 knights, dames and chaplains along with

80,000 volunteers.

Despite the Order not controlling any territory, they have diplomatic relations with over 100 states.

Germany currently holds the most powerful visa in the world where they can travel to 176 countries of 218 without a visa.
