Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones splash out on $4.5 million New York mansion

Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas have invested in a fresh New York property recently after selling their Westchester County mansion for $20.5 million.

The Hollywood heavyweights dropped an eye watering $4.5 million on the 1930’s country home called Long Meadow, located just 40 kilometres from their Manhattan property.

The gorgeous, dreamlike mansion spans over 12 acres and boasts eight bedrooms and a luxury indoor pool.

The Georgian-style mansion includes a staggering 10 full and two half bathrooms across the three storey property.

The movie stars new property also features a lavish dining room filled with candy apple red lacquered walls and a statement crystal chandelier.

The lower level also includes gorgeous indoor swimming pools, a state of the art fitness suite and an expansive games lounge - definitely sure to be a place of solace and relaxation for their two teenagers.

One of the breathtaking aspects of the house is a massive stone-paved terrace with an incredible view of the Hudson River which has open access to a summer kitchen.

The property is one of many the couple have tucked under their belts - from a large house in Swansea, UK, to a spacious apartment overlooking Central Park.

Catherine and Michael married in 2000 after they met at the Deauville Film Festival in France in August 1988.

Together they share two children together, Dylan, 19, and Carys, 16 as well as a son Michael has from a previous marriage, 40-year-old Cameron Douglas.
